How so? That topic is already being used to share screenshots of desktops; look at the tail end of the thread.

But, we'll see. Arguing this one out is pointless and if this thread gets merged or not, we have the definitive answer. :)

Simply because this one is specific. N900 desktop screenshots, or conversations related to organizing and using the n900 desktop. The other topic is very unfocused and theres screenshots of random applications in there that I don't want to have to sift through if all I care about is the best way, or a more intuitive way, of organizing my desktop. A thread dedicated to that purpose could be very interesting I think and I really want to see where this thread goes and how some people organize their phone for maximum usefulness.

... hold down CTRL+SHIFT+P ... and it'll dump the screenshot in your images/screenshots folder ...

*grins* ... I'm taking that as a compliment ... I wasn't going to bother uploading my desktops, but I realised after looking at a few that mine were arranged very differently from everyone else's, as I've clustered contacts and bookmarks into overlapping groups that make sense to me ... so long as I can see who/what the link is, and there's enough room for me to easily click it I've not got any issues with overlapping things ... (so long as the overall effect is asthetically pleasin to me! ... I'm fussy!)

Comes with Fremantle. It just brings up the menu that appears when you plug in the N900 into a computer (Mass Storage mode and PC Suite mode).

Now what I want to show you guys here, are the Phone, Conversations and Adressbook shortcuts on every one of my four desktops.
I simply multiplied the icons (3 times each) and then moved them a new folder which I made hidden so that the don't waste space in my "more..." folder.

I'd appreciate if someone could write a widget for this since having the phone on every screen is very practical.

I'd also appreciate If somebody could teach me an alternative way to accomplish this since mine is kinda "rough". Would it be possible via the config file that stores the desktop? and where's that file anyway?

Thanks!

Way cooler than the USB option are the icons in your power button menu, are they from a theme or a configuration file mod?
If a hack, are they allready in the file system or have you added them separately?

I want them :)

is there a way to move desktop items using the dpad, for moving things pixel by pixel? Or is dragging the only way?

I haven't found another way.

But I did find this extremely helpful grid-pattern wallpaper over at N900 Wallpapers.

Just for fun I installed the Pink theme.

It's very ... pink!

(But rather fun!)

Then I started playing with the pendulum app from Ovi. :)

I didn't. qwerty12 has then on his phone and I'd love to have them as well - not had a reply.
I am currently looking in /etc/systemui/systemui.xml I think the answer is in there.
