This isn't clear. Is the loopback necessary or can one use ext3 completely for MyDocs?
With an ext3 MyDocs and without doing anything else, Calendar wants to store exported .ics files under / (where it doesn't have write permissions anyway), and I can't change this directory. Ditto for Notes. I haven't tried other applications yet. |

most of this thread is beyond me.
But I cannot resist to state that I never had any problem in rsyncing the complete home dir (/home/user/.) to my Mac and vice versa. I did never note that MyDocs is a restricted FAT partition. It works as it should. I made a MacOSX directory in $HOME with dotfree links to .sounds, .images etc. because invisible files are a nightmare in MacOSX. So I never feel limited by the current file layout of N900. (sorry if this is too offtopic) |
