Re: Show your best photos taken with N900

I've been impressed with the camera so far. Macro mode works well, the flash is better than my Sony DSC (which makes everything look cold and isolated) and everything is sharp as a razor (except in low light with camera movement of course). Here's one I took yesterday:

from my first use of the n900 as a real camera.
my girlfriend was pretty impressed that it had better results in this quite difficult lights environment, than her normal digital camera. over all the performance in the dark is quite stunning.http://pixelpipe.com/ticket/Iydjc-yW...c-b58ad4355fd8

awesome shots here. gives some good examples of what can be achieved. I've been on holiday mode so these are more 'snaps' than anything.

Crickey,... How could you tell it's the mount lol. Hey JansZoon how are the screen protectors you've ordered from Ebay going? My N900 got a quite a lot of light scratches from the stupid sand dust at the mount. Now I'm using an Iphone cut to fit screen protector. If there by any chance could you share me one of your protector? Mine is lost in the mail.. ClearProtector is sending another one but it's going to take another 17days or so.

I want a HDR script or app for the N900!

This one is a HDR made with N900 by manually switching exposure and using a PC for post processing.

Hello Tim,
what is the secret to get pictures so perfect with the N900? Additional software?
Thank you!

(moved from other thread, technique in thread above)

Not a best, but a nightshot (as most images here were made in daylight) of the local town hall made last night. It's not DSLR class, but certainly not OMG-blurry-noisy-useless. The untouched original is at http://web.atombiztos.hu/20100105_005.jpg , the linked one here is rotated and 1:2 downsized, no other manipulation whatsoever.

http://web.atombiztos.hu/20100105_005_50.jpg

EDIT: Parameters: 3.5Mpix, Landscape preset, ISO 100, No flash, Exposure +1.5

Could I make a request that when people post the pictures = they also post the camera settings they used to take them, if they are able to remember them that is.
I think the info would be invaluable for other N900 users trying to take similar pictures.

Not because it's a great photo (though it's not bad for an indoor market). But because of what I think it says about the state of supplies for the British Military, I loved this one.

isn't this info stored in exif, what might be nice is a way to lookup exif information for photos on talk.maemo.org (with addition of a little button ui element, which when clicked shows it?

Re: Show your best photos taken with N900

There are quite a few that are AFAIK missing from the exif (like exposure compensation, macro/landscape/etc mode, etc).

Now it is -28 so. Yes it's cold but, when you have weather like this you love the summer even more when it comes with temperatures on +25 and the water temperature around +22 :)

I don't think I could live with summer all the time :)

Just for comparison, shot around 4am, july +22, sun rise.

Where we are is tropical, two seasons, the wet season, and the dry, close to 30c all year but just more humid during the wet, which is now

... this is my favourite of my n900 pics so far ...

http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...rsDay-Dave.jpg

... even after looking at some of the photos posted here, I was shocked at how well some of my photos came out on what is essentially a camera phone ... and was really pleased that I didn't have to take my gloves off in the freezing new year weather to take some lovely sunset photos!

I could never get a nice photo in low light - but in bright day light the N900 works good - though the half-press to focus is not set properly (or is it my device only? ). On My N95 the half-press was distinctly felt when I pressed the button - but on my N900 I just can't seem to feel it easily - as a result many a photo are unfocussed and not sharp.

So I checked the box going green method to make sure I had half-pressed before clicking the shutter fully.

Hmm I just noticed that as well, no distinct feeling on the half-press on the n900. I do remember feeling it on the n95 though...
