Re: Nokia N900 Pinoy Owners

btw.....have some you n900 pinoy users tried the overclocking?

while im posting this reply, my n900 is overclocked @ 1ghz.

i always put it back to the default (non overclocked) state when not in use or needed.

for all those in the phils, avoid overclocking @ a constant of 900mhz or higher, it may not damage your cpu but will overheat your battery.

Got mine last March 30! Mandaluyong City..

Installed the leaked PR1.2 and enjoying the speedier UI and performance. Don't know if I like the new keyboard layout on screen, but I like its snappiness everytime it shows up.

Still uses stock kernel as I'm satisfied with it in everyday usage.

Still waiting for some updates for VertSMS to enjoy portrait SMS.
Waiting for MeeGo port for N900..
or the official PR1.2, if there is any..

Hey guys! I'm from Meycauayan, Bulacan... and I'm still here in this country. Noynoy being president sucks, but it's something we got to live with. I'm a guy and I'm 21. :D

Got my phone from Trinoma just this week. :D

Maybe we can have a Pinoy users group meet-up. I'd love to learn more tricks to maximize the use of our phones.

Hey guys and gals, does anybody know if any of the prepaid data sim cards work with the n900. I was thinking of picking up the p495 plan from smartbro, but was told by the rep that those sim cards only work inside the usb modems. Not sure if he knew exactly what he was talking about. If anybody has any information in regards to this matter, I would greatly appreciate being filled in. Thanks!

Stephen from Alabang, got mine last April.
I'm on PR1.2, default CPU clock, haven't tried oc yet since it's still fast as it is for me.
Tried so may apps, mods, yet still there are more to try.
Modified LED light patterns.
Learning CLI commands at the moment to enjoy this better.
And wh said it's a geek phone, I bring this phone with me during biking trips and it has been great!
GPS gets me directions on a Philippine map, stop over at times and take pictures with it, play my favorite sounds while biking.
How about you guys, what have you been doing with your n900's?

NSU.

I want to overclock but I have no idea of doing it. And I'm really scared that I might mess up an already-functioning device.

yehesss..thanks thanks..

i was thinking the same thing a couple of months back when over clocking was still new..but with the strides they've achieved now, they've made it as easy as installing an app from the repositories. (well it actually is..plus entering a couple of commands in the xterm..haha) there are still risks involved but the end result makes it worth trying.

the phone as a whole is snappier, you'll have options on how to prolong the battery life, basically its like a brand new toy altogether..pair it with the black plastic theme with enabled transitions and voila! a whole new smartphone..haha..i did it cause im getting bored with it already. also, if the phone gets effed up in the process, im thinking that i can just flash it and just install the stock kernel. everythings here anyway..you'll just have to read and try to understand what the people here are doing..:D

What's the app that you used for overclocking? Meron na palang ganun? I always thought that overclocking was a geek process with a lot of tough nitty-gritty.

dein paps. sobrang simple na lang ngayon. bale meron na sa extras na 2 apps na pede mong i-dl.

here are the links, everything should be there.
http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#C...oltage_setting - titans kernel, the one available in extras

http://wiki.maemo.org/Overclocking - overview

just make sure that you've read everything so you know what your getting into.:D
