Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Unfortunately i cant install this due to conflicting problems :( ive had this with a few other apps as well.
Im guessing this is because it is due to all these apps being at testing stage

Are you sure you have a valid internet connection? TweeGo gives a username and password error if it can't connect. A little confusing, but once you realize it, it's fine.

This app as a BEAUTIFUL UI well done guys.

I look forward to the updates.
Can I jsut confirm the following 3 things
1)geotweeting doesn't work yet?
2) the more button doesnt' do anythign yet?
3)Auto Refesh hasn't been implimented

When the app is finished is there a plan to have a widget for the desktop?

Lovely App. Very impressed. Just what I was looking for.

Any chance of portrait mode?

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I have version 0.2.1-1 which I installed from the devels repo and the location tweeting doesn't seem to work for :-(

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

any change of this app working a bit faster, it works soooo slow for me, opening is slow, posting is really slow and even a refresh is slow. can any advice of am i the only one.

stobbsc 2010-03-31 15:04

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Just so everyone knows the location tweeting only works for US twitter customers at the moment, from what I have read on the twitter site.

@ay4you, the app seems to be super fast for me

Just like to add my vote for identi.ca support. :)

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

@stobbsc i am in the uk and it works but really slow is there a way i can turn of the location stuff, i think that is what is slowing it down

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

got my update from the application managers and the remember me option works like a charm!
nice ui and everything works fine (a bit slow but not a huge problem)
i do have one request for the next update tho, don't know if it's implemented in the current version and i might have missed it, but can we have an option to see who replied to our tweets? for example on the twitter website there's a link to do that (it's the @yourusername link on the side menu). not a big deal for me right now but would like to have it in the future.
Thanks again guys, great work :D

Question when you use this app and post a tweet does it say TweeGo or API?

1) The geotweeting is working with the application, but you have to enable it in the twitter first, then just press the location button next the tweet button.

2) The more button actually download more tweets :P, so older tweets are added to the timeline's list.

3) We're planning to implement this in future releases, but it will take some time.

4) For the N900 desktop, yes. But I believe the auto-update will be done first.

No, just the landscape mode, because of the timeline, in portrait mode each tweet will be too big in the screen :/

You can turn it off in the site but you can disable before you send the tweet by clicking in the location button un6til it's gray.

You mean something like mentions right? This is already the list of next features, we'll releasing it very soon.

Thank you all for testing! And thank you for all the comments, if you have any bug report or feature request you can also request in the tweego's page at maemo garage https://garage.maemo.org/projects/tweego/

It is only possible with OAuth, we are working on that. Can't promise you when exactly but we're gonna try to finish it this next week, along with replies and DM.

Just tried it. Excellent work and as the description says - it is really great looking!

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I really like this app so far...as of course already stated, it still has many missing functions but its a great start.

My thoughts to date:
- The 'following', 'followers' and 'tweets' should link to new pages including the stated info/lists
- Get rid of the 'more' button from the top, and either place it at the bottom/end of the tweets, or have the tweets auto-refresh when at the end of the list and to display more/older tweets
- Have a settings button/option in place of the 'more' button....
- Another vote for OAuth...should be avail in settings
- Need DM and Lists support
- Autorefresh, rather than manual refresh button....time between refreshing should be avail/changable in settings

Just the regular requests.

Great work guys, keep it up.....ive already dumped my other Twitter client in favour of this, even with its shortcomings, I feel its superior

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Just installed Tweego, and noticed that when entering my user credentials, my twitter password was appended to my username even though the cursor was in the password box

So I clicked login and got a login failed box , dismissed this, then the username and password fields behaved normally.

Great App! Congrats for the amazing work!

I would love to see

1. Lists
2. @username messages
and
3. Portrait mode. (I read you said No on that but I believe is needed) maybe you can add it later on your road-map.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

.........is there anyway I can set the app to auto login whenever I close the app?! At the moment, if I close the app (without actually clicking on 'log out'), the next time I open it, I have to click on the 'login' button again.

The only way to keep myself logged in is to just keep the app open.......?!

I just downloaded this, not quite knowing what to expect.

I have to say I absolutely love it! I don't twitter a lot, but this is just nice to use. It's the best looking app I have seen for the N900, and I hope that others gets some inspiration from this.

I;m having trouble installing this. I downloaded via links on here:

http://maemocentral.com/2010/03/20/t...-for-the-n900/

into the Documents folder...and then have followed the instructions but it seems unable to find the files I'm asking it to saying its invalid...is mydocs different to the documents folder?

You do not need to install it manually anymore.
It is on Extras-Devel Repository.
Go and get it from there nice and easy ;)

1) We're gonna discuss about that.
2) Yes, we are already working on that.
3) We've thought about settings, it's important, but we didn't start implementing it.
4) OAuth is next in line, after autorefresh, auto download of more tweets, DM and replies.
5) We're gonna start working on DM this week, shouldn't take too long. We haven't thought about lists yet.
6) see 4.

Thanks for your thoughts, they are really helpful, we're gonna try to release a new version soon with these features.

Yes, I was trying to figure out what that was, because when I compile on the desktop, it is normal.
I'll give it another look tomorrow.

1) As I mentioned before, we haven't discussed about lists yet.
2) We're working on that, should be in the the next release!
3) After we fix most bugs and add a couple more features, we'll see how the app will behave in portrait mode.

Thanks for your comments!

Oh we hadn't tought about that, we could put that in settings.

Yes, for now that is the only way to keep logged in.

By the end this month we're gonna release 2 or 3 new applications. You can check our other projects here http://zagaia.org

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

Thanks for this app, guys. I have to say it looks good and feels good... it actually makes me quite hopeful about Qt development for the N900!

- The font of the app is great, it's small but legible.
- The UI is pretty and the transitions slick.
- The scrolling is pretty slick... though I have seen better.

I do have a couple of suggestions (in this order, for me at least):
1. @replies "stream" - I know you are working on it.
2. Oauth - I know you are working on it.
3. Multiple twitter account support.
4. twitpic
5. On the screen that appears when you double click a particular tweet, it would be nice to also be able to select a #tag so that it goes out to search for tweets with that #tag.
6. Have the timeline load an additional, say, 20 tweets when you get to the end of the list instead of having to click "more".
7. The ability to send URLs to Instapaper and/or Delicious (a la Gravity for Symbian).
8. I am not too bothered about auto-refresh myself, but if it can be configurable in a Settings menu that would be great.
9. Lists
10. DM "stream" - I know you are working on it.
11. Portrait support.

Perhaps it is also possible to have the "loading" screen "in the background" so that it doesn't block any other use of the app when you are, for instance, loading "more" tweets.

Re: TwitterBox is now TweeGo!

I know this is a Twitter app...one that still has many missing Twitter functions that need to be worked on first...but here another suggestion;
- Facebook support

Just like Gravity.....but instead maybe a 1 push update...updates both at the same time, or just 1 if chosen....

Would love to see a combination/merge of TweeGo, witter and Facebrick

One thing that can spoil the program is combinations. Phone has nice facebook/twitter/whatever support as the sites can be synced by site options itself. let's keep twitter app for twitter and facebook app for facebook where you choose which one u need and wich one u don't =)

If JanOle doesn't give us Gravity for Maemo, we will write our own! :p

looks stable enough for me to be in maemo extras.

lol for me too, i didmt expect that tweego was a sooooooooooooo beautiful app, its really nice, i think that is the better app in graphics now for Maemo 5 and so glad that Qt is really great thing!

Probably everyone is waiting 1.2. If you haven't noticed quite many apps have been updated on repository but they cannot be downloaded because they need 1.2 update on N900.
