when you release a version that no required installation of other program?

I haven't installed too for this reason!

Thanks for the answers! You should implement an easier way of change witch folder it should look for. Right now editing the /etc/enna.cfg i the only way i know.

For me it's only stuttering in the beginning. After that it works perfect. I have all my media organized in different folders.. that might be the case why it's faster for me.

Enna features HAL for auto mountpoint discovery.
I've disabled this feature at build though to save a few CPU cycles.

As you stated, right now, the only possibility to add folders is to manually edit the enna.cfg file. All of this will be doable by GUI configuration but it's currently WIP and I don't want to release half-bugged features.

Which other programs ?
The only libs it depends are EFLs, an equivalent to GTK or QT framework.

Another program rely on an older version of libeina0 and therefor blocking the installation. You can read about it at the beginning of this thread. The fix is however little dangerous and can make the device unstable or other programs not working.

@gxben: You can probably use Tracker which is already scanning any media files and speed-up booting. The Tracker available on Maemo 5 is 0.6 though, so you'll need to resort to RDF queries instead of SparQL...

We have our own scanner that uses its own database and fecthes much more info that one can imagine.
So no, we can't use Tracker.

Album covers _are_ displayed.
Weather is disabled for now on n900 until fully GUI configurable (or next major release that adds GeoIP localization).

I can imagine. Anyway, you can use it at least to fetch the files, then you can harvest only the info from them. I'm just listing options, the choice is yours.

It is not that slow - the first run freezes and stays in memory with 100% CPU, so the next is slow, but if you kill it after that, its speed is bearable. If they used the 16bit enlightment libs from Canola the speed would be probably better.

I don't have either of mentioned apps but still it shows me that error message. What do I do?

A lot of things you've probably already installed depend on libeina0, so doing apt-get -f is not a good idea, it can potentially break a lot of programs. Don't do it unless you understand the implications.

Easier to wait until the devs of enna figure out their junk and get it sorted, or like others have said, remove everything that depends on this library - apt-get autoremove libeina0 - and then reinstall enna. (apt-get install enna) It should work fine after that.

Re: Enna for Nokia N900

Just installed this via the app manager without problem.

Took me a while to realise I had to tap the very bottom of the screen when playing videos to be able to stop it etc. Book store seemed very slow and comics were barely readable.

Looks nice though and once the UI has been optimised for a small screen I'm sure it will be a great player.

P.s. I have not been able to try the audio playback quality yet due to being at work.

Enna for Nokia N900

Hi,

Really wanna try Enna out but like another user on this thread I am getting the error:
-----
Unable to install 'Enna Media Center'
Application packages missing: libspeex1 (>= 1.2~beta3-1)
-----

I have extras, extras-testing & extras-devel enabled and I cannot find libspeex anywhere and not much mentions this on the web.

Whenever I try with xterm, I get a bunch of depends and they all say "but it is not going to be installed" at the end. And on the bottom it says "E: Broken packages"
Any help please?

I've checked the developers website on this project and it seems as if he abadoned the project. If anyone knows the developer then contact him because this media player has so much potential. I would love to see a nice stable build of this on our n900s. If anyone knows any info on the current situation of this project please let us know. This would be best media player by far. Thanks

To install Enna, it appears you need the following repositories active:

Nokia Applications
Extras
Extras-Testing

Not sure if these other changes helped, but I also uninstalled:
Color Flood
Powatool

Re: Enna for Nokia N900

If you are interested in installing Enna this is how i did it on both my N900

In Xterminal instal the following

libgif4
librsvg2-2
liblua5.1-0

Of course need the appropriate unchecked catalogs available then after installing you need to disable all catalogs except geexbox where Enna will be install from.

This part i don't remember, I either install libeina-svn-05 before installing enna. If it does not work then uninstall libeina-svn-05 and then install enna. It should work....in this order.
