Didn't know this thread was alive again :)

I'm all in for headless fun :) Basic Portrait Mode is already within grasp with the new autorotate. Needs some fine-tuning only in a few parts. Plus, I only need it in conversations and email. I would love it in the media player too for music, but I can live.

I don't think Nokia has decided yet on how far the N900 will go, and that is why they are silent.

With PR 1.3 you can read Robin Hood's VHS movies. You just need to open your phone and put the VHS inside of it.
Currently only Robin Hood movies are supported, oh and "Where's the damn frog?" too. To read pr0n VHS we need a special dildo-like adapter. Sorry for disappointing you guys.
But isn't it amazing that it can read VHS??

PR 1.3 will support easy access to youareanidiot website :) Just click on anything and it will open it.


PS: If you really don't know youareanidiot website, search it on google. Anyway i don't recommend you guys to open it with Internet Explorer (if you use it).

The only thing i require in PR 1/3 is the ability to change red lights to green Italian Job style! It should be integrated in Ovi Maps 200^200 .

I heard 1.3 will have Retina detection and no-touch

- Phone unlocks when it sees your face. If someone else uses the phone it uses their profile and their apps. Yes, your apps and data move with you even if you someone else's N900.
- To move between screens you swipe with your eye from left to right and vice versa
- To select an app you look at an icon and smile or wink or nod your head or blink
- To close the app, scrunch your nose while looking at the app. To force close, scrunch your eyebrows and look mean in addition to scrunching your nose.
- When you squint it zooms in, open your eyes wide and it zooms out.
- To type you look at the letters, kinda like Swype but for your eye
- There's no portrait or landscape per se. Depending on how you rotate the phone the icons and screen stays perfectly oriented to your eye, so full 360 degree retina orientation. If you lie sideways it knows that and adjusts accordingly.
- To turn the volume up / down you look at the volume widget and lean your ear toward / away from the phone

I heard that for 1.4 Bluetooth 5 supports the cerebral interface and the phone will project into our brain. I'm going to skip 1.3 and wait for 1.4 because I like to wear sunglasses and am too lazy to use facial expressions.

i heard with pr1.3 you don't have to do anything, you just think about it and it happens. like you wanna finish angry birds with highest score possible in 3 seconds and 1 2 3 it's done

U missed the important point to switch on the phone u just need to FART....:D

To answer/reject a call u just need to node ur head:eek:

I think that's PR 1.5 but not sure. They're still working out standards for smellcasting. I hear Google can already index all of an individual's different smells. Google Scent is in Alpha and is invite only. For full effect 3D sound will be use to broadcast all gas related sensory goodness. Just don't plug into any subwoofers. :o

That should be included in 1.4 and the cerebral interface. I'm looking for the community hack so that I can VNC into someone else's brain and make them do funny things or at least do the John Malcovich. I also heard ipfilter will be upgraded to prevent someone else from rsh'ing into your brain and learning your deepest darkest secrets. Gotta be safe.

As much as I was a foaming-at-the-mouth, seething with anger, perfection-demanding user in the days leading up to PR 1.2, I can quite honestly say that ever since I got video chat in PR 1.2 I've been perfectly content with my n900. I don't really care much about PR 1.3.

The only improvements I could really use is general speed (for some reason my device has been locking up randomly for a second or two every now and then for the past month) and Zune Pass support. Of course the first one isn't that big of a deal and the second one is just a pipe dream that I know ill never happen. Still, I wouldn't jump ship to Windows Phone 7 if I got it.

Things PR 1.3 should have:

1. support for USB on the go
2. Support for wired headphone buttons
3. Fix virtual keyboard problems when editing an existing text.
4. Better flash support.
5. Full ovi suite support
6. BEtter phone interface wich works faster when a call comes in
7. Equalizer in media player
8. Paying by phone bill in ovi store!!! symbian allready has this.
9. Far more faster app management system. (community has proven its possible)
10. addons on camera like sepia, black and white etc etc
11. BEtter search function in the phone wich search in all directories (like the app scout)
12. updated PDF reader... the newest PDF files are not readable with the n900 anymore. HTC desire does read them!
13. fMMS integrated in the conversations app.
14. a function to put a shortcut more then once on home screens. for example the phone shortcut on every desktop.
15. Directory support in menu's so that you can rearange your apps shortcuts into maps (ApMeFO works terrible when rearanging shortcuts with the built in n900 function)
16. a function to let the calendar start on month view every time you click on it. now i have to switch it to monthly view every freaking time.
17. Email app crashes allot and is most of the time very slow! Also when openening pictures in attachments in the email app results in pressing the back button about 5 times before you return to the email.


Well thats about it. The rest of the device is awsome

Has anybody mentioned the status bar yet?

I hope the display of status bar apps is available in portrait mode.

They did a nice job with the power button menu. I would like the same stacked, drop down menu to be available when the status bar is touched in portrait mode.
It would make reaching other apps or scripts so much easier when using Quick Launch.
