Yes, was working on a WPA2 network here with a N810 some days ago with the latest build from this thread.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

on nitdroid 0.50, wlan appeared not ot work, and I couldn't scan for networks at all, but after repeated attempts, (disable, enable wlan 10-20 times:-P) the network did appear, and I was able to connect.

After this initial connection, I was able to connect to the wlan on every reboot, without any problems.

This problem disappeared when i upgraded to 0.51

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

On to a diffrent subject, do you think the problem with google apps may have anything to do with the time? I have heard that people have been unable to connect to their google account (nee nokia hardware) on android, if the time on their device was substantially diffrent from the google servers.

I would love to help test NITDroid, if it didn't require flashing of the device. Is there any chance that it will be supported to work with the Console Tools bootloader?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

only part which needs flashing is kernel rest runs from sd card

But having to run the flasher tool every time I want to switch between the operating systems is hardly practical. Forgive my ignorance when it comes to linux kernels, but don't bootloaders (I'm thinking GRUB here) allow you to switch between kernels?

I can confirm WLAN working on a n810. It used not to work for me, but that's because I didn't let the first boot finish properly. Second install went absolutely fine (It takes a long time for the first boot to complete).
Then I was able to browse the internet just fine (albeit slowly)

I will test it.

The new build seems to work great on my N810. I also have an N900 but that is my primary phone for now, so I'll try with N810 first and then see with N900.. My N810 build keeps crashing and rebooting after 5 minutes or so. I would like some pointers as to how you test and build the android ports to N810. I really want to see a fully working 1.6/2.1 on the N810/N900.. that would be cool. :P

Isn't kexec part of titan's kernel for the n900? Not sure if that helps you or not...

What did you do to get past this? I'm seeing the same thing on my N800 w/4GB SD.

I did see a message pop up saying it couldn't read the firmware, but this is the third time I've rebuilt the 4GB card and there's nothing wrong with the card.

The errors I was getting was with 2 x 16GB cards. I had originally installed Nitdriod onto a 4GB card and it worked fine (still does).

Spent a while in chat with steve, and could not pin it down to anything. The working theory ended up being that NitDroid did not like 16GB cards for some reason.

Try a different card. It may be a duff card, and y 16GB cards may also be a bit iffy in that case.

Do you still need n900 testers/devs? Willing to put some work into a port. Gonna mess around with whatever I can find, but if you have specific concerns/problems let me know..

Would you be able to provide a link please. I tried searching but did not find the download and don't have much time to search longer.

I will gladly start testing on my N900 and post the results if you can provide links to the necessary files.
I presume we can follow the same installation instructions from earlier in this thread?

Where do I get bootmenu for my N900?

I tried the following link but can't find the files to download.

https://garage.maemo.org/projects/bootmenu/

Is there a way that I can put all the necessary files on my memory card and launch it from within maemo? (similar to Haret for windows mobile devices)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

i dont think bootmenu is needed just need to flash that kernel from what i gather of the posts in said forum

You mean the kexec part of titan's kernels? is that all bootmenu uses? I tried to test a while back (with a VERY early image), but couldn't get bootmenu to work. I am hoping that we can leverage titan's kernels to get a clean multi-boot system.

thanks tywoboxen, im not sure on the n900 flashing yet..

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I want to learn how to do all this stuff but I'm not an experienced linux user and I don't want to cause any serious problems on my N900 (brick it or something!)
I read through the instructions on the previous link that I posted and it all sounds a little complicated at the moment.
I have an Ubuntu 9.10 live CD available that I could use to partition my SD card but after that I need more clearly defined step-by-step instructions of what to do to patch and compile the kernel. (can I do everything from live-CD?

Is there really no other way to just prepare all the files, put them onto the memory card and launch it from within maemo so that it terminates maemo and loads from the memory card? (not affecting the maemo installation at all) (Then after pulling the battery it should just boot normally back into maemo)

Thanks, I was following the original guide which created 3 partitions and it didn't work. As soon as I did the 4 partitions (1 vfat boot, 1 swap, 2 ext3 for everything else) the no-google bundle worked for me.
Not too shabby. About as usable as Maemo was, maybe more so.
Now to just get the one with the marketplace app working...so I don't have to install APKs from the web. And it reboots when plugged into power and it decides to "sleep". Don't know what's going on there.

the reboot is down to power management issues that ive yet to fully nail down the reason for. currently im moving from getting sound running because i need to rethink how im going to. camera i need to work out as its all green at min,
