Are you able to put the case in your pocket? Seems kinda thick for a PDA case. |

THis case is tiny. Perfect fit. I tried putting up higher resolution pics but this site doesn't allow it... How do I do it? I think the limit is 19kb. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
I bought a case from PDAir and I love it!!! Try http://www.pdair.com They have several types and I received it from Hong Kong to Oregon in less than a week!!!

Re: Nokia N800 Case
I know most of you are looking for a case small enough to fit in your pocket for on-the-go protection, but I've found a good option for extreme protection when you are going to carry the N800 in your backpack or briefcase, say on a flight. It's the Pelican Micro Case 1040 with "pick and pluck" foam padding. It's waterproof and crushproof. I use the 1020 for my Garmin nuvi GPS and it is great, very small and light, and I am sure my device is safe. You can view the specs on the Pelican site and I've found it for as low as 11.99 (even in camo). Of course the foam is extra.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
i dropped my N800 3 times in the first 2 days. last time i dropped it i bent the charger plug really bad (i might have to buy another one). that the problem with whole modern electronic industry is that everything is super sleek, aerodynamic etc. as if we're trying to launch it down the ice slope..
so my first 'mod' is a stretch-velcro arm-band that i put around the stock sleeve to prevent the damn thing from sliding out. i will either look for a decent and cheap hard case or a messenger bag so i can also put my digital camera and other junk. http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3200/strapat4.jpg |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
I received this PDair case today. Appears to be well-made, fits the n800 like a glove, and was relatively inexpensive:

Re: Nokia N800 Case
I want a scaled-down version of my leather laptop bag. The bag/case of my dreams should hold an N800, a charger, the bluetooth keyboard, a few memory cards, the usb cable, my micro wifi router, the latter's antenna and maybe have an extra zippered sleeve or two. This would make it 1/4 the size of my laptop bag. I could live with that.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
i bought a Nintendo DS soft zip-up play through case. on the back it also has a zip-up pocket along side the case.
looks like this only Black and for DS not DS lite: http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...&cm_keycode=92 i cut the top off the clear plastic, that holds DS for play though action. but left the bottom so N800 can slide into it, on the back i used 2 velco strips to fasten it.. it's not too elegant, but it works. and small enough for pockets. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
I'd been looking for a case to use for travel, and I found this case from Granite Gear at an outdoor store. they call it a "sunglass case" but it's actually flat and well padded. It's close to a perfect fit for the N800 except that it's a an inch too long, but that leaves room for ear buds.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
I found a case that works well with the N800 for $19 at Bestbuy in Canada.
It is a Nintendo DS Lite case by Intec, is made of some soft leather, and has a nice look to it.. even comes with a shoulder carry strap... the belt loop I am going to modify with a metal clip.. but it "works". edit:... oh and the "snap" is magnetic.. works well and holds tight. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Is Nokia still only selling the flip lid case accessory in Europe? That's the one I want; just something hard to cover the screen, but easy access during use. I don't care of the devices casing gets scratched up, I just don't want my pocket knife, change, etc to damage the screen.
Anyone know how to get one in the US? |

Re: Nokia N800 Case
can someone comment about the pocketability of these cases? - i want something that i can just grab out of my pocket and use (i need something that can withstand day-to-day pocketing) i'm considering the alu-leather case from proporta, but the strongman case looks to be a strong contender as well
also, i was wondering about the dust on the screen - is a screen protector necessary? (like i'm not worried about it getting on the screen, i'm worried about it getting BEHIND the screen (hasn't happened yet, but has anyone had it happen? esp. if you leave it in a pocket)) |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Like an above poster, I use the Nintendo DS Lite case (NDSL80). Kmart has them for $7.99. For me, it's perfect.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
If people want an aluminium flight case such as this one for the DS which should also fit the N800, see http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0251868
Or off ebay in the UK: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=110095535880 then they might want to get one sooner than later given that the DS lite is smaller and cases for that won't fit the N800. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I picked up a little PDA holster at Lowe's (building supplies) last night for $3.95 USD on clearance. It's heavy-duty, roomy and provides elastic side pockets for tools or other accessories. It's meant for construction use but could be for general purpose too.
It's called the PDA HOLDER, Field Pro Series, from a company called Texas Hold-ums. They make other varieties; here's a provider: http://www.abccatalog.com/store/list...idCategory=168 I saw some of their products on ebay as well. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
I picked this Case Logic case up and have been using it since I got the N800 back in March. It's excellent. I loaded it up with my credit cards, money, the spare stylus in the center (which is the only one I use, I never take the one from the N800), and even the fat-Nokia to small-Nokia power cord converted in the slot for a thick pen. I stick it in my pants pocket and, aside being a slight bit bulky, it's perfect!
Here's the case, I highly recommend it: http://www.caselogic.com/strongman_p...?modelid=44299 |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Having checked out the pictures of the official case I realise that Nokia are not going to come through with what I want.
My interim solution is to reduce the width of the included pouch by 1cm. After trimming off the excess material I now have a soft slip-on case which doesn’t permit the device to slip out inadvertently. It will serve as a template if I come across a sheet of neoprene or similar, i.e. rubberised on the outside and soft lining inside. |

(the official case is definitely sexier than both, but it doesn't seem to provide a lot of protection) |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Hi,
I just bought my n800 and ordered a case from www.pdair.com. It was beautiful and my n800 sits nicely in it. It was a steal at $28 with free international shipping.cheers |

Dell has the Case Logic Plt-2 right now for 11.99 with free shipping
Here There are also some other cases on their site if you do a search for N800 |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Hi All...
Here's some pics I took of my N800 with the Case Logic Strongman case. Pardon the terrible looks of the crappy ebay screen protector I applied. It's durable and does the job though. Looks much better when powered on with my background image. These show a little more detail of the sides as they fit in the case; BTW, I'm a first time tablet owner, the N800 being my first mobile device. I think it's awesome. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...p/100_0119.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...p/100_0115.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...p/100_0116.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...p/100_0117.jpg |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
The NDS800 case from ALS works too. Comes in a lot of different colors about $10 regularly at CC. I cut the plastic holder out. I got it primarily to protect the N800 better while it's inside my knapsack.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
that Case Logic Strongman looks kinda cool i guess.
i also have NDS case and i left the bottom plastic to hold it, and in the middle i attached two thin black strips of velcro, it holds the N800 in there pretty tight, and its easy to remove if need to. http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9778/404va0.jpghttp://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9854/405xz9.jpg http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5034/406gu7.jpg i like it a lot. pretty snug fit around N800 and zip pocket in the back for SD cards and USB charger. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Anyone have any reviews/experiences with either of these two cases:

this pouch looks kinda cool. cheap and padded.
anyone tried it? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.645 |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Ya, but it really isnt much better than the one that is included with it.
|
Re: Nokia N800 Case
yea, but does it come in pink? :D
http://www.dealextreme.com/productimages/sku_2143_1.jpg i was just wondering. i stopped using the original pouch because of high slippage and droppage rate i got from it. |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
My brother has the pouch for his psp, ill try putting my n800 in it to see how it fits.

Re: Nokia N800 Case
the strongarm looked interesting, but since I like to use my N800 nekkid, I looked for a case that could hold it with a few accessories in a safe and sturdy fashion for lugging about. This is what fit the bill for me:
http://www.caselogic.com/compact_por...?modelid=80400 It holds the N800 (which I leave in its Nokia sleeve), a USB charger and the headphones without rattling around and it is rather crush proof so I can just toss it in a bag/backpack |

Re: Nokia N800 Case
I discovered that the Otter 2000 waterproof case is a perfect size for the N800. With the Nokia slipcase on, the N800 fit is snug but padded by the case soft liner. These are these are heavy duty, with snap closures, readily available on the net for about $13 or $14.
