Same effect (using Black Plastic theme) and further more it doesn't seem to work for me. I just get the weird screen without the signal or battery life.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

I don't have that problem and I am using the same theme.

Hi,

I've digged on teme changing trouble and I've got a response.
If you have a theme already installed (before you install maenotify), switching to this should not giving you any error.
If you have installed maenotify and after you installed a new theme the switching to this new one will be a problem.
In particular this is a permission error, to fix it, the current workaround is to re-install maenotify.

Can't make it work. It's running but nothing gets shown in the lock screen. I've tried changing theme and rebooting.

Same issue here. I have a customized lock screen but it sits in the regular location.

Hi guys,

if you have some strange problems, please send me the logfile that is in :
/home/user/.maenotify/maenotify.log

so I can analyze it and try to understand why it is not working.
Thanks.

Hey all,

It seems like it doesnt work with some background files,
also, i found that battery consumption when idle increases, as it seems like the cpu doesnt go to sleep..
Not too sure, but just some observations.

DaSilva 2010-07-27 14:09

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

I also think that maenotify eats too much CPU (battery) but I am not completely sure about that, I will observe it further...

b0unc3 2010-07-27 14:53

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

Yes, with the new upgrade maenotify seems to eat more resources since it's refreshing every minutes to update battery percentage and cellular signal strength also when in idle.
I'm trying to see how to get this solved asap.

And sometimes the lock screen appears only after the second press on the on/off button.

Have you noticed this in some particular situation? Or it is random ?

DaSilva 2010-07-27 17:01

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

I think it is random but maybe it happens when the current background data is wrong and needs to be updated which uses so much CPU that the button press is not recognized but that is just a theory.

There is definitely something amiss with the cpu usage of maenotify.
To illustrate, here are two screen captures from my phone.
Both show cpu usage during overnight idle, the first without maenotify installed, the second with maenotify present.

love the idea of this, but looks like still not ready for prime time. would love the idea of hooks for latest emails and task and/or calendar entries, too

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

It definitely consumes some CPU. I monitor it by SSHing into it. Every minute, maenotify spikes up occupying around 23% CPU.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] maenotify

If this could also show the phone profile on the lock screen (silent, general) that would be awesome! Is it do-able?

Well, no...not so much at the moment.
I've to admit that I have abandoned a little bit this project...if I'll get more free time (and ideas) I'll work back on it...

Ok.. I thought you might have since there has been no new releases.. It works fine, but it increases the battery drainage ~5-10% in 12 hours. It doesn't sound much, but it almost doubles the idle battery consumption for me..

Hi All, a bit late.
I've just discovered this app, the problem with it is that the battery and signal strenght come up but the calls are as normal. Its not how the screenshot should be. Don't know if anyone had this problem and found a solution.
