I have the same problem too - it doesn't seem to be dependend on the theme by the way, tried multiple themes but everyone still gives the glitch when a call comes in.

This is an extremely annoying bug :(

I started this thread yesterday with a suggested fix :

hawaii has posted a solution of sorts which I have yet to try...perhaps if there's more activity on the linked thread, a dev might be tempted to write the suggested fix :)

The bug has been fixed and maybe someone could compile the current fixed hildon-desktop to fix it without waiting for PR1.3!?

I have wondering this too if this fix would be available earlier than with next PR. After all, its Linux and thereby in my opinion it shouldn't be difficult to fix such annoying bugs as it has been done in big linux releases with critical updates.

Right this one is annoying me too. I'll hit answer a dozen times, and it doesn't answer, just silences the phone, then I'll find the phone app is still open and ringing but has gone back to the desktop.

The screen flickers a few times as well when I try and answer, and I have turned the automatic orientation off so it is portrait as standard.

Exactly that same problem. Touchscreen will show an incoming call, the phone rings and the screen stays on just long enough to accept the call, but after that I either have to use he unlock button or open the hardware keyboard slider. Pretty annoying, though better than no calls being accepted at all.

There is no difference, btw, with outgoing calls. I select the person I want to call, press the green button and next the screen is completely black, while holding the device still in my hands. the trouble is that where I live, network coverage is not the best, so sometimes it just takes a while for the ringing pulse to sound. To check whether I am still calling, I have to unlock the device first. Not the most convenient way for a device I paid for with my right arm.

Compiled the newest hildon-desktop and after 5 minutes of testing I'm unable to reproduce this bug, yey. Will be adding the compiled executable after few days of extra testing :)

Can I ask you to try a few test cases:

a) Do test with regular phone call and then with Skype. Test with 2G and then 3G.

b) Test with one app running in the background that doesn't have an active connection (web browser or OVI Maps (memory hog))

c) Test with one app that streams data (mplayer streaming video or Tunewiki streaming audio)

I find that streaming audio or video and trying to receive a 3G Skype call is a recipe for disaster and do this while not plugged in to a power source.

I hope you don't mind me asking.

I have same problem, almost EVERY single time I get a regular call..it gets extremely annoying coz I initially tried to hit the side by side accept button, but it changes to the regular and ends up registering press for reject.

after some more testing I still found this bug in place :-/ I dont know if have I done something wrong but the buttons still do jump around the screen.

This is how I tested:

1. Downloaded newest hildon-desktop from http://maemo.gitorious.org/fremantle...ildon-desktop/

2. Compiled it in scratchbox

3. Replaced old hildon-desktop binary with new one

Tested with no load and extra load, still the same. In certain cases the buttons were side by side for a second in portait mode and in landscape buttons they were one on the other for a second.

Maybe I have done something wrong? Maybe hildon-desktop isn't the only component responsible for this? Maybe we have to wait for next FW to fix this :-/

A ready to install hildon-desktop.deb was released by MohammadAG in the bug report: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10613#c28
Please test it and report here if it fixes the problem.

Move it into Nokia N900/MyDocs then (with rootsh installed of course)

Went back to the PR1.2 hildon-desktop, reproduced the bug as shown in the vid, upgraded to the new one, couldn't reproduce it.

I guess it does solve the problem.

Any chance, even if the slightest, that it would conflict with something and cause another bug? I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now that could but I'd like to know.

gonna try your deb MohammadAG , this bug is super irritating making call answering hard work ! will be a pleasure to press answer and answer button still be there when my finger arrives not to have moved somewhere else on screen !

It happens only after the new hildon-desktop from MohammadAG.

The problem is, the phone application itself is so laggy, I have missed calls because it already takes about 8-10 seconds for the device to launch the phone application on an incoming call.

At least now I can answer straight away without worrying about rejecting the call accidentally in the glitch.

Removing mp-fremantle-generic-pr = no SSU, you won't be able to upgrade to PR1.3 when/if it's released.
Just don't upgrade to libsdl1.2-mixer

Again, it's not my fault, bug the maintainer about it.

Thanks it works. Sometimes the hover effect (press "Accept" button on incoming call) doesn't work and I am not sure if I can already talk but at least the glitch is gone :)
