Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
Oops.. should have read the OP. I picked my maximum oc i normally run. I am able to do 1.15 stable but picked 950 as i am normally not going higher.

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
it's okay, i already remove 1 from the 900mhz and add it to the 1150 cause of the same mistake, so now 1 from the 950mhz as well, from the looks of these numbers, N900 is a very good overclocker, i want to see blender working on the N900, i know there is a vid of it working, but i need the releaseeeee :D

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
Overclock mine to 900 MHz, 24/7 no problem so far.
Tried LV 250 - 950 but rebooted, so i think 900 is max for me. |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
I am overclocking at various speeds depending on what I have going on.
My N900 will not run on the "ideal" or "starving" voltages. Not at 1150 or even 850 Mhz. Don't really know why. Get reboot almost immediately. Runs stable at 1100Mhz on ULV 24/7 no worries, tested with 15 + apps running simultaneously including three games and watching a video. Haven't noticed any increase in temp either. So all is good with me. Any thoughts on my phones aversion to Ideal and starving profiles would be appreciated. |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
Okay, I'm coming in on the tail end of this thread. My understanding was that overclocking voids the warranty. Is this true? With 9 pages of posts, I'm guessing either a) it doesn't, or b) the warranty is a whole lot shorter than I gave credit for. :D
So let me get this straight. You can overclock the N900 to nearly twice it's stock cpu speed and it...
This being the case, is there a good howto on overclock + undervolt? I know it requires the power users kernel...Is it just that and setting the kernel settings as the post on page 1 of this thread? I saw an overclocking guide on the web, but there was no mention of undervolting. It ran the phone hotter, shortened the life of the processor and voided the warranty. I had thought about Doing that, but wanted to wait until it was closer to the end of (what I thought was) the end of the warranty period. Thanks a million, gang! --vr |

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
I had the lehto kernel from day one (125-900) but yesterday I`ve tried the titan kernel just for fun and....oh my god! The difference in speed and responsiveness is great!I had it first at 250-900 LV and it was way better than the lehto at the same speed, then jumped to 250-1000 LV and there IS a difference in speed between 900 and 1000.

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
I use 1.15ghz all the time for mypaint and playing music over angry birds, but wouldn't leave it unattended there. also useful/essential for flash sites like youtube.
never had any o/c related issues. for those that are thinking about it - do it! |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
i'm running xlv 250-900
if i try 950 in 100% cpu usage it reboots. BDW, itá a HUGE difference between lv and xlv. when i was running lv, the fone got VERY hot in heavy usage and cpu reach 60C when i tryed and runned same speeds on xlv, the maximum temps drops to 40C. |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
I know this thread has been dead a while, but I don't know where else to add it.
...anyone else have no problems with overclocking--except when using the FM Radio application? If I set it over 600 (no matter the voltage) and the radio app will not play audio. As soon as I return it to 600 it plays again. |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
950mhz cpu 500dsp 58 degrees maximun oc gaming about 2 hours and little
with 1000 reboot with 1100 i can play 1 minute with 1150 not open apps and reboot |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
Wow some of you guys must be unlucky both my n900s i could overclock to 1150Mhz and it run that for days/weeks and it was fine....

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
1GHz is very stable for me (Same as stock)
1,1 GHz is only stable with increased voltage (Very stable but power eating) I use for the daily usage 900Mhz with the ULV kernel which is increasing the battery life a lot :) |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
My maximum OC is 1.15GHZ, and it's stable there, but it gets hot fairly quickly; I wouldn't want to use it for more than about 5 mins under load at that temp.
I've got mine running 250-950 all the time with a sampling time of 100ms from 300. It's -very- responsive now. I can run it for hours at 950/1ghz without issue. My voltage combinations are in my signature. |
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
1.15 GHZ since i have my mobile (6 month) and it works without any problem. I do not play a lot on my N900 (maybe sometimes angry bird or stuff like that) so i cannot say what would happen then. i mostly listen to music or watch movies on it.. ah and i sometimes call people ;)

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
250-850 I don't really need any faster, am not running anything that intense, so it's okay :)
|
Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
500-850. effing best.

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock
i managed to oc to 1GHz to make starwars xvid reasonably watcheable (hooked up to big TV) - but even a slight oc results in microB being very unstable - so i genrally leave at standard setting..
