One Question: If i install 0.0.8 with the Auto installer, will this format the SD and repartition it again? I have 0.0.7 installed now.
I dont want to loose my apps installed now!

copy /and/data/app folders to your N900 internal SD, 100 apps needs about 120 MB space. install 0.0.8; when done, copy them back to /and/data/app

Now i also noticed that the /system/etc doesnt have the power.conf file? Where has this file gone to?

It should be at:
/and/system/etc/power.cfg
after a successful instalation.

If you look at the newest (0.0.8) auto installer nitdroid.manifest it installs oc-profile-500-700.tar.bz2 that handles the power.cfg file.

What the hell do I do if i haven't used auto installer.

I can't see NIt Droid in the Application Manager. I have extras-devel enabled.

This is insanely frustrating.

I do have my n900 OC'd with Titan's Kernel. Help me please

OMG im freaking out.. i need help ! i ve been trying for 2 weeks to partition my sd card but i cant. ive tried it straight from my n900 and it doesnt work and tried it with paragon partiton manager but it jus lets me partition the sd into one ..i need help bad. i dont kno what to do.

when i try the auto installer it gets stuck on "formatting /dev/mmcblk1p2 (ext3) . . ." and nothing happens, thats why i tried to partition the sd with paragon partition manager.please help

already tried that and it didnt work for me. i think i found the solution tho, i used paragon partiton manager 9.0 and im pretty sure it worked.. it went by that message" formatting /dev/mmcblk1p2 (ext3) . . " and now im at Downloading Nit droid 0.0.8... and its staying there for a while.. ima leave it over night and see what happens...

am i doing good or not? cuz everywhere i read it says that it takes bout 8 minutes but its been like half an hour now and nothing happens its still stuck at "Downloading NitDroid-0.0.8-Popov.tar.bz2 ..." nothing happens after that.

same here cannot install flash 10.1 and i wanted to install angey birds lite for android but it is saying application not installed.

I was looking for the extras folder, doesn`t exist on the newer version.Go to the nitdroid forum through your phone and download the adobe flash 10.1 file.I`ve installed that and all is good now.

u can pretty much downloaded from anywhere
and i think a new version for beta is out too

samipower, after install NITDroid I lose my overclock too but I do this:

sudo gainroot

apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher

apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power-bootimg kernel-power-modules

apt-get install --reinstall multiboot-kernel-power

power off

init

Boot menu shows now three options Maemo with OMAP1 kernel, Maemo with power40 kernel and NITDroid, second option can be overclocked with this instructions:

kernel-config load lv

kernel-config limits 250 850

kernel-config save myprofile1

kernel-config default myprofile1

This works in me, now I can boot without overclock, with overclock and NITDroid without problems.

Getting the "XCB connect failed" message,

I am installing from EMMC, iv installed Nitdroid a million times before from MMC, but first time from EMMC

Any suggestions? Iv reformatted, reflashed and tried eeeverything no luck :/

Im using theNitdroid-0.0.8-Popov version :D

I just tried to install nitdroid with the auto installer and there was an error while formating the sd card.
Now my N900 is not botting up anymore :(
The Led is just glowing white and the nokia logo is displayed.
What to do now ? :/ I need my phone later :(

//edit : My phone also stuck at "formatting /dev/mmcblklpl (ext3)..." when installing nitdroid.

Luckily I can still connect iva USB. What command to just reflash the kernel ?

That should get you started. I think. It's been many moons since I've reflashed, so be careful and read up on it before you take my advice.

Edit: I recommend you look through the whole reflashing wiki page. You may also want to wait and see if someone more knowledgeable than me shows up.

It was full before flashing and is not even booting with power adapter.

Noone else can help me ?

some have issues with the tar file
"tar: invalid tar magic"
use this as 4th step

open xterm

sudo gainroot
mkfs.ext3 /dev/mmcblk1p2
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cd /and
bunzip2 /home/user/MyDocs/NitDroid-0.0.8-Popov.tar.bz2
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/NitDroid-0.0.8-Popov.tar
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-06_final1_armel.deb

my phone seem have goosed from trying this procedure!

texts dont send/receive
mediaplayer says no songs/videos etc
photos dont show up
app manager doesnt work

i get 'operation failed' for most of these!

any idea how i can reverse it?
