Freeman, it is working just great for me using Targus Mini bluetooth mouse. Would you be able to fix the microb browser scrolling issue in your drivers as well.
thanks in advance.

You need to enable the extra-devel repository and then refresh and search there for Enhanced Kernel

obhishap 2010-12-10 08:57

Hmm, this sounds me like very old overclocking kernel. Which firmware are you using?

Anyway, there should be uninstaller in applications. You should revert to stock kernel and after that install kernel-power from extras-devel.

And is better to ask for support in some overclocking threads

obhishap 2010-12-10 14:18

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

I am using the latest firmware. I am not interested in overclocking just want to use bluetooth mouse. I can connect and pointer also appear but cursor not moving.thats my problem.well, can u tell me how do i check if my kernel is stock or midified ???thanks

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

@mihapodb ,

You have the Fremantle SSU Apps DNS error. If you search about this repository, you'll find that, for some reason, some ISPs can't solve its address. You can reach it, though, through setting both the router and the internet connection's DNS to google public DNS. Works like a charm.

(...)

@Everyone

I'm attempting to pair a bluetooth mouse with the N900... Where, much to my surprise (to put it bluntly, my expression was:  WTF!?!? ), the device asks me to input a numeric code with the, errr mouse, in order to pair with it.

Any help on this? My mouse did not come with a numeric keypad .

edit: Ok, so I get pop-up asking me, "Accept Connectivity with the Device, Bluetooth Mouse", or something in those lines... But a cursor is never displayed, clicking does nothing, and the mouse isn't listed on the bluetooth devices list.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

I tested several different wired / non-wired Logitech mouses (MX610, M500...) and they are all working just fine. Good work :)

Though I noticed a problem, inside the default browser I can't click any links or buttons its simply not reacting on any click. Outside in the default Maemo menu's the mouse is working just fine. Is this a known problem? For example in Firefox it seems to be working just fine but there I see no cursor, it appears only in the default menus.

i tried other mouse with hid-scripts and this is running well

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

Ok, so I reflashed the device ( I'm going to test the nativo keyboard subset, btw)... And, while I managed to make the mouse cursor appear, it refuses to move. I can't get it to do anything.

Any help?

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

You could try to install kernel-power, see note2 on first page.

And when you are asked for numeric code you should enter 0000 (four zeroes)

5spdvl 2010-12-12 12:29

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

Anyone having issues with inputing a four digit code whilst pairing their mouse, try changing the randomised code to "0000" - worked for me.

Worked like a charm! Along with QTMWeb, this brings the browsing experience on the N900 to a whole new level.

Thanks, freemangordon.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

Greetings. I have a problem connecting my USB travel mouse (slow speed).
h-e-n recognises it correctly, but nothing happens.
Device is A-Tech Glaser, Model X6-60MD
Code:

usb 1-1: New USB Device found, idVendor=09da, idProduct=000a
usb 1-1: New USB Device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-1: Product: USB Mouse
usb 1-1: Manufacturer: A4Tech
hub 1-0:1.0: state 7 ports 1 chg 0000 evt 0002
hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 enable change, status 00000303

Works well with wireless Logitech mouse.
Thanks for for your help and the app.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

If you have another mouse working in the same configuration it seems to me that either non-working one is unsupported by kernel for some reason, or it consumes too much current. Will you please post dmesg from the moment you connect the mouse to the end.

leojab 2010-12-26 22:02

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

season's greetings freemangordon,

Would it be possible for you to incorporate the following items as well into extmou:
Qoles version of mouse driver fixes the kinetic scrolling bug.. can this be incorporated here as well..
Asmall mouse or arrow symbol in the status bar would be nice when the mouse is connected ;-)
Facility to map the mouse right button to Ctrl-Backspace would be a nice option as well.

freemangordon 2010-12-27 07:12

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

Thanks for the greetings...

Which version of mouse driver? This one?

http://maemo.org/packages/view/xserv...t-evdev-mouse/

Qole's version, WTF? Took me 3 weeks of sleepless nights to fix the damn driver. If you have problem with kinetic scrolling make sure you are using extmou and not some mixture of azerty1's scripts/driver and old qole's bt-hid-scripts?

Will you explain in detail the idea of using precious space in status bar to tell someone that he/she is holding mouse in his hand. Isn't visible cursor enough?

And re mapping rightclick to ctrl-backspace - as I already explained I do not feel skilled enough to emulate keyboard using mouse, have feeling that this will require massive code changes not only in evdev driver, but in X server and kernel too. And will break mouse usability in lots of applications. Won't do that.

...and have a happy new year :p

leojab 2010-12-27 15:35

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

Ok.. points noted..
after advanced-clock update to status bar and your valid points, I drop my requirements in a jerk

Ctrl_backspace is a good feature but did not know this involves loads of changes. For now, I am really happy with extmou

Happy new year to you as well .. I do hope to hear more new apps from a talented person like yourself
It is because of you guys I am still holding on to my N900 :)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

What I don't see here is new input device created. As I don't have USB mouse around me to test, will you connect your another mouse and check in dmesg log if there is line similar to

[ xxxx.xxxxxx] input: Logitech mouse as /class/input/inputN

If there is such line for Logitech wireless there I would propose to ask on h-e-n thread, maybe usbhid does not support your A4Tech mouse

also may I have your /tmp/Xorg.0.log

Hi! I have a wireless USB mouse as well, I thought it was bluetooth but I guess not. It's the Logitech Wireless M195 Laser mouse with 2.4GHz Unifying USB nano-receiver.

Is there anyway at all that I might be able to get this to work on my N900? Or am I looking at buying a new bluetooth mouse?

freemangordon 2011-01-06 08:41

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

I don't understand what you are asking, but did you try to connect receiver to n900 at all? On the other hand extmou has nothing to do with hen or USB, so if you have problems connecting USB devices please use some relevant thread, you may receive more help there.

To be honest I would recommend you to buy bluetooth mouse as for now USB hostmode charging does not work, so connecting USB mouse will give you large battery drainage. Not to mention the pile of cables and hub if you need keyboard attached too.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Mouse Support - extmou

I was just wondering if you managed to find help developing qtmweb. If I want to try it, do I simply click on the link and appman will open automatically or do I have to download and install via exterm. As you can probably tell I know very little about this device.I was wondering what needs to be developed? ie what isn't working. Really enjoying angry birds with a mouse on a 46" lcd.

Thanks.
