Erm ... you do realise they mean slide a finger across the screen right ... not slide open the keyboard.

Nope i did not realise but that is pointless because you first have to slide the button on the side of the device to wake the screen up as at this point the screen is blanked out.

Re: Slide 2 Answer

When someone rings you get the screen lit up and all you have to do is touch the answer button so which is easier? slide to answer or touch to answer? don't make much sense to me.

nope, you're wrong. please read atleast a few posts in the thread instead of just posting after seeing the title. infact, just a few posts ago, somebody posted a screenshot of what this thread is about.

As for touch vs slide, it also has been discussed here before.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST

I apologize for that. also i am editing my post.

It might not make sense to you, but it does to me. And as this is optional (you don't have to install this) it's perfect for the both of us. ;-) .
I have had problems with rejecting calls, when taking the phone out of the belt holder, so for me this is really perfekt. As for the name, it might not be perfekt (maybe it should be swipe2answer), but english isn't my first language.

My question again
can I look the rotation when it call? I will have it in portrait, it would be faster answer and not so much lagg.

AFAIK there is no way of locking to portrait. But it works in portrait with CSSU.

I had the annoying problem of the screen swapping from potrait mode to landscape and it drove me mad in the end so i went into settings-Display and put a tick in the Lock screen automatically.

Worked for me but some apps are designed to use one and not the other orientation.

Do a search on google what portrait means? Why all the dots? When you answer and start talking you using it in portrait mode, donīt you? Anyway, what he means with lock is that the application should not be in landscape mode.

Re: Slide 2 Answer

okay, I thought this did work in portrait.

Re: Slide 2 Answer

ok, the app is really fast and its good. BTW, can we ask for improvements/suggestions here?

Like how about giving more details like phone no, whether it is mobile, work, etc. And also show notes, if it is present. Maybe make it have configurable background?

Once again, thanks for this great app.

EDIT:
BTW, it only works in landscape for me...
with forced rotation enabled, in portrait, it doesnt respond at all. Also, are those buttons or something else? Coz those red and green buttons dont do anything for me...

For me it works with forced rotation enabled, in portrait.

The "buttons" aren't buttons, just text for you to know which way to slide, to answer of reject.

This is nice, but it is missing the option to make the ringtone silent.

Re: Slide 2 Answer

I think that the best way would be to basically copy the UI of the call popup and switch the two buttons with a slider (just like [bleh] windows mobile including the answer/ignore being the backround of the slider). Also making it only portrait wouldn't be bad since when we talk the phone is in portrait position and I find it quite annoying that after finishing a call the phone turns from portrait back to landscape (at least an option to fix one of the positions would be great).

I am just uploading here a mockup that I made of a slide2answer implementation that I'd like to see. I hope you wouldn't consider this as me mindlessly exploiting you guys asking for lots of things. Its just for you to use, if ever u need UI ideas.

EDIT: Oh BTW, my portrait mode in forced rotation worked perfectly for me after a restart. As for the 'silence ring' issue, although it is necessary, for it is not a show stopper as I just use the flip to silence feature.

There seams to be a slight problem with this, that makes the hildon-status-menu to stop working.

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=71737

As a workaround for this type
Code:

killall hildon-status-menu
in terminal.

Hopefully someone can take a look at this, and come up with a fix for it.

Re: Slide 2 Answer

I think this needs a few little additions,

Firstly, I think there should be an option for which way slides for connect call (I for one being a Lefty prefer it the other way).
It also needs the "Silent" button on it if you don't wanna take the call... But you really don't wanna hang up!

Other than that, I like it :)
