i just downloaded the deb file.dint install it yet as everyone is facihng problem. so the most battery saving profile is life doubler. is it possible to create a profile which will save more than life doubler. if so then what are the tweaks?

did nothing , simply , installed the initial version and then the second one (the GUI one) which didn't work and then thanks to ammyt again , installed the third one and it worked fine :P

i installed the latest deb. so what do i need? do i need to enable the dynamic cpu patch and then install the GUI version which ammyt posted last page or just installing this deb will do. i dont hav any patches installed. not even karam's patch.

i have just reflashed my device 2 days ago , installed nothing , no patches .
just installed the .debs and it worked

i reflashed it too. no apps installed. what do you mean by "debs". there is only one deb to install right? do i also need the patch from the other thread of dynamic CPU??

i donwloaded the attachment from the first post. and it installed and opened. i clicked on life doubler and got this in terminal:

i clicked on life doubler. it showed me successfully loaded. then again it appears the choose profile window. i am totally confused when i saw the profile in xterminal.its not life doubler settings.

First, thx ammyt for this DCS script

But i have a problem with it...

I flashed my N900 and installed only latest CSSU, kp48, kp-settings and dbus-scripts.

No problem to dpkg -i, but once i load CPUTweak in /usr/bin in x-term, i got an error about zenity something...
Then i apt-get zenity and was able to load the app properly.

When i choose to configure patches on start menu, once i select the patches and choose the default profile i want, i get again the menu to activate the patches and choose the default profile. i get this menu a third time and then arrive again on the start menu.
I don't know if this is a normal behaviour.
Checked overclock file and the profile is set to the one i did choose in the GUI.

If i decide to load a profile from the Use Ready-Made Profiles, it load properly but once i lock/unlock the phone, i get back to the stock nokia profile.

And final, it does never load the unlocked profile, i am always at stock nokia profile except if i manually set it (from gui or kernel-config command)

I restarted the phone several time already and made search in both of karam and your's posts but did not find any clue about this...

I check and all files are where they should be and with the access they should have (checked with the deb file).

Would appreciate any help on this.

To the people facing the xterm closing issue do as root:
chmod +x /usr/bin/CPUTweak
update-sudoers

Then run the icon. I will review the whole script and upload a fixed ver. tom. (hopefully)

For the zenity problem, just do an:

apt-get install zenity

in x-term to install it

I've found the main script calls scripts located at /home/user/MyDocs/ , where actually they're located at /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts .
So /home/user/MyDocs/final is actually located at /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/final .

I've edited ammyt's main script /usr/bin/CPUTweak to change every occurrence (4 in total for freqs, patches and build) of this wrong path. It worked fine.

Then, after running it once, everytime after, it complaints /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/underclock not found.
Looking into /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/freqs , it moves /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/underclock to /usr/local/bin everytime a profile is selected. So next time it goes there, it founds nothing to move, thus complaining.

I've found /usr/bin/underclock is created also when patching option is selected in menu, by /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/patches , copying one of /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/{dsuc,alluc,dcsuc,vfsuc,dcsguc} to /usr/bin/underclock.

@ammyt: wouldn't it be better to use cp instead of mv to create /usr/bin/underclock from /home/user/.CPUTweak/scripts/underclock ?

how I can disbale VVD2 from optimum profile ? My n900 continues to reboot when I select that profile because of vdd2

you need to apt-get remove cputweak-dcs first if you have the old version installed

Hi, all.

When I hit on 'Configure Patches' button and select 'Dynamic CPU Scaling Patch' I'm prompting for "profile to load when active".

So my question is: What profiles do you guys recommended to me, a simple 'average joe", when active and when idle?'

I'm alternating 'Optimum' and 'Life Doubler' profiles on my day to day.

According to http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=71879 new KP49 has new frequencies scheme, and manages DSP frequencies on its own, and includes "dsp" profile that gives all performance plus battery saving that is needed.

some questions:
- is CPUTweak needed as before when new KP49 is installed?
- is this new KP49 compatible with CPUTweak (CPU Power Control) ? do patching or profile selection at CPUTweak have any incompatibility with new KP49?
- if I want to install new KP49 and use its "dsp" profile, and I have already installed and configured CPUTweak, what should I do to avoid problems? should I uninstall CPUTweak first, or is it enough to not use patching and only manage profiles?

The hw revision of my device is 2204.
I did not manage to hit stable power and clock settings.
Somebody would be able to help with it, that the device coming from this revision which clock and power/dsp rates which may be used as stable?
Where I can find the default values of this settings?
