Well, bookmarks do exist, in a way: you place 'em to the apps menu and move them to a folder called "Bookmarks" :) Lack of find-in-page sucks though.

1) Has ringer tones volumes improved?
2) Now that we have support for Front Camera, does Skpe support video call?

Keyboard is very much a personal thing. I think N9 has probably the best VKB one can find. And it is sooo easily customizable(I rearranged slightly buttons, putting spacebar to the right, as I am accustomed from N900). I am typing on iPhone 4S on a daily basis (as I set up&fiddle with my sisters' 4S) - iPhone's VKB is not even close to N9's one VKB for me.

I'd like to know too, maybe it's a feature that comes with PR1.2 :)

Does the offline routing also work now, or do we still need internet connection in offline navigation mode for routing ?

Offline routing worked already without internet connection. End of November I was abroad and disabled Internet connection before driving across the border. Routing then was still no problem, also calculating new Routes was no problem.

You have to have downloaded the maps of your target country of course before over WLAN.

^No change.
Can you sign in to Yahoo after reading a news article and make a comment or reply to a comment? How smooth is that with and without swype keyboard?
Can you scroll down the comments without accidentally hitting the report abuse button?
When you scroll down the feeds screen is it easy to accidentally hit a link and when that link opens and you close it does it,
a)open it again
b)send you back to the top of the feeds screen to start over again

Can you have both charger and a portable battery powered speaker plugged in at the same time while connected on wifi and battery app running while playing a station using the internet radio app without the phone becoming unresponsive?

I'm just curious. What happens when you go to thedailyshow.com and try to play a video? How about CNN.com then scroll down to the bottom and click full site and then try to play a video? Colbertnation.com?

- Set 'home' location for quick access... going back home.
- Ability to store favorites. There's also an option to sync favorites but I haven't figured out where the app syncs to....
- Small layout out changes here and there to improve the usability (rather significant to me)

By default Cut the Rope use flash for audio (read here why), use this link http://www.cuttherope.ie/?html5audio=true for a true HTML5 Audio "experience"

Can you see the time of arrival or remaining time to drive? (maybe push on remaining distance)

According to one of the bugs marked as fixed in the changelog this should be there.
I really hope it is as it's one of the things I really miss from maps on symbian. Being able to give a reasonably accurate reply to every "how much longer" from the backseat really does help a lot on those long drives. :)

Does the Drive or Map app show traffic?

Re: [Announce] Harmattan 1.2 beta now available as OCF for Nokia N950

PR1.2 has one of few last features I was working on before departing: face recognition. Nice work of my teammates in Gallery: if you activate face recognition, there will be small bubbles with question marks on faces without assigned contacts in pictures (Gallery shows them if you tap the picture). Pressing the question mark will bring a dialog to enter the name or select a contact. If face recognition algorithm "sees" a similar face with already assigned contact, it suggests the name. Once selected, names are shown near the faces. One can browse pictures by assigned names as well. All in all, use is simple and natural.

When pictures are shared to Facebook, Flickr, and Picasa, the names and face regions optionally transferred as well, you can select per-picture whether this information would be shared. Privacy and different settings around face recognition are available in Gallery's settings page.

The face recognition API should allow easy integration for other applications and you are not limited to associate contacts only. The algorithm is Nokia proprietary and is on par or better than what's available on the market, depending on lightning and face conditions, of course.

No, it does not. Grooveshark is using sound playing API that is not available in Nokia Browser. It also doesn't work in Chromium and Firefox under Linux. When I talked with some of Grooveshark developers they were not interested in fixing these issues.

They use mp3-based streaming which is not available in Firefox under Linux by default. The API is not there as well.

No way, the version for the N9 is quite different (i. e. no physical keyboard). More likely in one little month, time to fix some issues with this beta release.

Have you checked contacts? Currently when you type in an address you can click from there to set the destination. Maybe it can gather favorites from contacts?

I agree, it is very personal.

In my case, after using and experimenting a lot with VKB on iOS (iPhone, iPad), Android (large smartphones and Asus Transformer), Maemo 5 (N900), Symbian (N8, etc), I am sure that the N9 has the best VKB for my use, with great vibration+sound feedback experience. Also, the X-Terminal on N9 is practical to use because the VKB has an additional top line with Ctrl, Tab, arrows, etc. So the X-Terminal on N9 is a lot better to use than other touch-only devices.

Yes, when you plan a route you can configure avoidance of various road/transport types (can't remember if toll roads was listed, but am pretty sure it is).
