seems like a driver issue to me. try it on a different usb port or a different pc

Tried a different laptop (Win XP) and it worked, thanks.

Then I had another problem when during the installation uploading of files freezed and after some time IO error was displayed. I tried to reflash like 10 times or so, once it freezed even before uploading kernel and after that reflashing did not work, plus the battery discharged and was empty.

When I understood that I'm in trouble I used our friend google and tried cold reflash which didn't work either due to discharged battery (usb was not enough to charge). So I extracted battery (lucky me to have a screw driver that just fit) and charged it manually (placed to the friend's nokia 5530 battery terminal). After that I tried cold reflash again and it worked like a charm.

The final command is

flasher.exe -F img.bin -F emmc.bin -f -c
Funny thing is that flasher did not detect device on my minimalistic Gentoo PC nor Ubuntu 12.04, when I had been installing PR1.2 I used my Gentoo without any problems.

Do I need to make any other steps after cold reflash?

P.S. PR1.3 seems to work just great and super fast :D
P.P.S. Guess there is no such a thing as "bricked N950" as long as you have not burnt any hardware inside it. And one always can charge the battery manually.

I always have to use the older version of flasher, dont know why, but the newer one never seems to recognize any of my devices

I kept it simple. I Downloaded the bin file for N950 PR1.3. Used the one-click flasher (Linux version) to wipe it clean and install official PR1.2 (rootfs and emmc) Then used the command:

I tried with this command and i am getting the following error
sh: sudo: not found

I already copied the bin file on the N950 using the mass storage mode.

Any help please.

You are not supposed to copy it to N950, but to run the flasher from your desktop machine.

When I got my device the the LPS not show me the clock. And now after reflash to PR1.3 it still not show me clock. What can be problem ?

I flashed my n950 to PR1.3 (I guess it's leaked) 10 minuted ago. seems to work fine (till now...) :)
It is possible to flash from a recent version to an older one, it up to you to decide which version you want to flash to (unless you really messed up and bricked your device in a really bad way)
Anyway, you should be really careful about flashing.

BTW, does someone know how to connect the n950 (n9) to the internet via usb and my pc's internet connection (running linux an win7) without the sdk on the pc like n900 pc-connectivity?

Yes leaked PR1.3, for now work very well, started to setup N950 like my N9... Like HW kb :D

P.S. I don't tried to downgrade, also for now I don't see a reason for doing it ;)

Works great, just like N9 pr1.2 vs pr1.3. Downgrade is not possible unless you have R&D certificate in your device. (That means that if you don't work for Nokia, you won't be able to downgrade, just like in N9).

PR1,3 on the N950 works great, just don't try enabling multiple shots in the camera app - that will cause the camera app to crash when started.

Ok, so for n950's pr1.3 is same downgrade restriction. And it is possible to replace certificate in device? In older harmattan flasher I see option "--write-cert=" http://forum.meego.com/showpost.php?...&postcount=181

Yes, but then how do you get the certificate to write? A certificate works for a specific device (IMEI), so once again unless you work(ed) in N9 project you don't have access to a certificate for your own device.

Now I just have to add the full backup menu and Nitroid again :)

In the school network I wanted to download it in it's prohibited to use torrents. If you do so, you can't use it anymore.
The speed is acceptable, it has the resumable download option. Thanks very much!

I have a problem with my N950. Yesterday the phone had a strange behaviour; the sent sms did not appear, the notes could not be showed and the file system was mounted in read only mode. After this I decided to flash the device again following the steps in: http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/release/N950-39-5/. I say again because I did the flash process a couple of months ago.

I get the error that downgrade is disallowed. Is the device dead? I downloaded the file that @caco3 published in http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=101, but I do not how to use it. Could anyone please give a hint?

If you flashed the N950 leaked PR1.3, NOLO disallows downgrades.

But if he really uses PR1.3 he should know that.
