No no I didn't mean it in a bad way but was relieved that you didn't have to reflash... Your earlier errors made me worry that a reflash was the only way for you hence my relief to see you get it done without having to reflash... :) |

Re: additional swap file
For those that have enabled this mod, do you notice any difference?
|
Re: additional swap file
nbedford,
Slight speed boost here in terms of opening apps... |
Re: additional swap file
@nbedford I guess i could say more stability in multitasking.
|
Re: additional swap file
Ok, I took the plung and went for this mod.
I followed @rainisto's tutorial and also hit the validator-init not found error. After searching I see validator-init is in /usr/sbin, so although everything seemed to be working correctly, I re-ran through the tutorial but changed the validator line to Code:
/usr/sbin/validator-init; aegis-loader;echo 1 > /sys/kernel/security/validator/flush |

Seem i need open mode to solve it

Re: additional swap file

Re: additional swap file
Your screenshot shows /user/sbin/validator-init it shoudl be /usr/sbin
EDIT: See you already tried with /usr/sbin |
Yes, that i type wrongly.
I think is normal mode problem |
Re: additional swap file
I tried with this tweak with open mode on a 512mb N950, but after reboot the swap bacame 0, don't know the reason why...
Big big thank to thedead1440... Without him I can't even try it. :) |

Re: additional swap file
u mean incept that opensh deb?
as i know inception 2.5 , no need opensh anymore |
Re: additional swap file
and can you send me yours enable-swap.conf file?
|
Re: additional swap file

And it was like that you don't need opensh for installing inception as after PR1.3 aridanesh does the same thing. but as i have read earlier that no one replied to your query regarding opensh or aridanesh. I would suggest if you can try with opensh. I haven't tried yet as these are busy days but will try this on this weekend. pls share your output as it will be helpful for others including me. cheers |
Re: additional swap file
well that screenshot doesn't show you using adriane shell or opensh. Before running the commands you can check if you have enough capabilities in your shell with:
RM696-21-3_PR_001:~# accli -I |grep tcb-sign aegis-enabler::tcb-sign RM696-21-3_PR_001:~# If grep doesn't return that line, then you need to devel-su into opensh, or gain privileges with adriane sh. |

I think is the problem i have is enable-swap.conf, i found i downloaded is 607B... |
Re: additional swap file
is that one?
http://pastebin.com/EE9GTBNV |
Re: additional swap file
Quote:
my step is: 1. ariadne sh 2. Copied enable-swap.conf (http://pastebin.com/EE9GTBNV) to /tmp/ and /etc/init/, the files is 2.07KB 3. run the command from export A=`sha1sum /tmp/enable-swap.conf |cut -b1-40`; 4. Continue the command until last: /usr/sbin/validator-init; aegis-loader;echo 1 > /sys/kernel/security/validator/flush 5. /sbin/reboot And checked the swap memory is 0 MB........I dont know which step got problem, all command from step 3 - 4 no any error. |
Re: additional swap file
did you devel-su first? If not then why not?
|
Re: additional swap file
Quote:
use ariadne sh, also. really dont know which step i wrong, now always 0 MB swap, I think i need to reflash...............sigh....... |
Re: additional swap file
Are you getting the cabapities row when you do: accli -I |grep tcb-sign
If you are then only thing that I can think of, is that usually run these commands from ssh terminal shell and not from UI terminal application. It might be that UI terminal application handles special character differently, like $ vs \$, in which case you have totally screwed up refhashlist). I'm just assuming that people copypaste the commands on ssh shell, and not try to use any UI terminals on device itself, since if you happen to type a single command in wrong order, or typo the path, then it can lead to malf. |
Re: additional swap file
accli -I |grep tcb-sign, i can get the output as you mentioned
where i can get ssh terminal? maybe I need to give up and reflash, I already do this whole day:( |
Re: additional swap file
Quote:
But yes refhashing might be easiest way, especially if refhashlist has wierd lines in it. |
Re: additional swap file
iD: ssh developer?
