Yes you can tell me to not use power menu. :(

Reason I am using your power menu is that I have accidentally shut down my n9 when taking it out from tight pocket.
Would be nice to have it vibrate so I can fast release powerbutton before 9sec.
Also I think it feels odd to long press powerbutton without vibration.

If you dont want to add it then dont.
But theres many users that want vibration feedback.

Oh if you mean that so I take my previous words back. I think it's reasonable.
I thought by mistake you mean vibro on screen touches at Power Menu items (my bad I know).
But it's up to coderus wishes (and maybe opportunities) totally.

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

A funny thing happened. I had installed 0.0.4. I stopped powermenu from terminal, went to application management and clicked to remove powermenuqml. It began to remove all the original apps or something, the icons disappeared from the home screen and the phone died. :D
Reflash helped...

E: Power Menu QML is not a reason for this.

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

@MK99 of course it because of power menu qml, you not using N9QT and other tweaks :D
@zaidk9 i have no idea. maybe you need to sell your N9 and buy 1100?

MK99 2013-08-11 07:22

HtheB 2013-08-11 16:25

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

seems like there is some (small) delay when pressing the power button once to lock the screen.
Is it possible to fix this? (Maybe we should turn off 'double press' option so it won't have a delay?)

coderus 2013-08-11 17:44

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

small? what you mean? all delays are system set. you can change it in /etc/mce/mce.ini

I noticed it too. Delay when locking screen with single press.
I dont use double press so its not that.
There was no delay before power menu and with first version.
Then I went to 4.1 and I neticed it.

you can edit mce.ini and set short action tklock-lock (default)

coderus 2013-08-11 19:34

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

then you can't use Symbian Legacy behaviour ;)

I dont know my brain might be faking whole problem. :p
Sometimes it feels like I start pressing button again because it didint go black.

I think same as HtheB that power menu activates some double press options and it waits that default 500ms.
Tried changing double press delay to 1ms but it didint help.
Do I need to reboot after I apply it? Didint try that yet.

Edit: Double press is enabled but doesnt do anything. You can test it just by double pressing.
Edit2: Double press is not enablet on lockscreen. Screen goes black and opens again if you try it.

coderus 2013-08-11 20:10

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

double press to show menu just impossible on lockscreen :) first click is always blanking screen :)

Mikkosssss 2013-08-11 20:19

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

Ye but how I disable double press on anywhere?

coderus 2013-08-11 20:23

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

i can't understand what you mean

Mikkosssss 2013-08-11 20:36

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

This delay problem comes from double press delay.
I dont use any double press actions.
How I can I delete double press from waiting for second press before locking screen?
I did set that delay to 1ms but it it didint work. Do I need to reboot or use other value?

coderus 2013-08-11 21:02

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

this delay not come from double press delay, lol :D

Mikkosssss 2013-08-11 21:07

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

I still think it does.
Theres no delay when lock from lockscreen because its not possible there.
Could you please upload version before settings.

coderus 2013-08-11 21:23

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

You think it does? Maybe you also think user know more how to work application, than it's developer? haha :D
and no, i can't upload this. you can manually perform modification from #95 if you not using Legacy behaviour.

Mikkosssss 2013-08-11 21:32

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

Changing that line to defaulf did nothing.

Anyone has any other version before 4.0 .deb file because Coderus wont upload one because unknown reason...

coderus 2013-08-11 21:34

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

well. obliviously you should do /sbin/initctl restart mce after changing it's config file, or reboot ;)

Mikkosssss 2013-08-11 21:44

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

Tried rebooting and asked you few times if that is necessary.

Found version 0.0.1 sometimes its good that internet doesnt forget.

Will try fixing tomorrow. If no success I will just use 0.0.1

Critical? Maybe not, but annoying? Hell yes...! :D

I tried to change things within the ini file, but nothing helped (before you're gonna ask me: yes I did reboot the device ;) )

There must be something that causes this problem...
I hope you can fix this problem

coderus 2013-08-12 07:47

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

No, it's not a bug. I can't fix it :)

It's happening after installing this. So yes, it IS a bug :)

Maybe someone else can fix it. For now, I'll have to pass on this then.

coderus 2013-08-12 09:47

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.0.4.1]

its's not a bug. after overriding short action to dbus call it need time to send signal message from server to client applications, application should listen this message and send lock message to mce back. so, this is delay. nobody can decrease it. and it's not a bug. understand? :)

coderus 2013-08-12 10:01

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

v0.1.0
Rewritten from scratch.
For returning original short action disable Legacy behaviour.
When legacy disabled short action change mce config directly.

Morpog 2013-08-12 10:34

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

Now it fades in/out :)

coderus 2013-08-12 10:36

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

yes, now it pure QML.
please test Legacy behaviour setting. If it working okay and locking delay by short press when Legacy disabled and enabled.

Mikkosssss 2013-08-12 11:27

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

Doesnt fix bug.

When version 0.0.1/none installed: Fast double press locks and unlocs screen.

This is what it should do

When 0.1.0 installed: Fast double press does nothing.

This is what it should NOT do

Double press is somehow active but theres no action set.

Version 0.1.0 waits 500ms for second press. Thats why theres delay.

coderus 2013-08-12 11:31

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

lol? double press never locks/unlocks screen by application :D
you used some tweaks for it :D

now i see what you mean, and it not related to application. just reapply your tweak. i can implement it in next version

awesome noobbless :D

after v0.0.4 signal from powerkey pass through power menu, if you want you can edit mce.ini and set default values for shortpress (tklock-lock) and doublpress (disabled)

coderus 2013-08-12 11:37

Re: [Announce] Power Menu QML for Harmattan [v0.1.0]

@lorenzo he used tklock-both for doublepress, as i see now :D
@Mikkosssss why not to explain it more understandable before? why you talking about mystic double delays and so, and not about lock/unlock by double pressing? :D i'm just laughting because of this situation :D

jfaGYIABHSKUAGSALJLKGHKASGASGKGJLAGRJKB

Now I must think that do you even read my messages or is my english too bad to write understable text.

I Dont use any other powerkey tweaks
no double press to unlock/lock!

By explaining what happens when double pressing I wannted to tell you that theres double press activated but it doesnt do anything. Power menu activates it.

You can fix it by changing line

PowerKeyDoubleDelay=500
Change it to 1ms

Edit: Read my earlier post now made it more understable.
Or do I need to make teaching animation like for kids like how bread is made or something.
