IMAP email seems to work fine, at least for reading. Simple but functional.

Phone seems to get quite hot.

You may have noticed the LED at the bottom of your Jolla. This tells you about power and charging:

white : switching on
red : switching off
pale white : charging
pale white blinking : fully charged
It also uses the same colours as your main apps to tell you if you've missed something:

green blinking : missed call
blue blinking : missed message
yellow blinking : new email

So, not based off of Helium Reborn (Stefano Mosconi said no forks have been made...)?
Codename "Sailfish browser"? We need a name to call it.
Any kind of Flash support, Lite maybe, or some sort of replacement?
Extensions/add-ons?

Someone know which microSD can be used (up to?, sdhc, sdxc)?
And maybe someone already tried to connect via ssh as root/user, via WinSCP ?
Where located vkb files, which format, can we create another like on n9 and simply activate them from setting?

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

file manager:
access to rootfs?
supports network shares? SMB, NFS, UPnP, WebDAV?
direct file sharing? sorting options?
Calendar!
CalDAV-support?

Helium was WebKit-based, and mostly UI code apart from the engine - and UI wasn't all that usable for us, as we had different designs. So no, no ancestral roots there. One of Helium's authors does work on the browser, though.

As for a name, it's just called "Sailfish Browser" in the version string afair. I don't know the answers to your other questions offhand - although AFAIK Adobe don't work on Flash on ARM anymore.

Yeah, that's why I thought it was oced, but as DeeGee noted there are variants (still hoping for KP and 1.7? 1.8...?)

Give the frozen finnish dudes, who got the phone, a break. They are trying their best at the moment. Time to sleep, and tomorrow fresh minded I decide if I hit "buy now" button.
Btw, is there landscape in browser?

If there is I'm not been able to find out how to activate it. Rotating the phone doesn't work as default for web browser.

At the current point it's only in portrait, Landscape support will be added later.

Please guys don't forget SailfishOS at this point is still in beta

Interesting, in the dmesg dump you can see the WLAN MAC addr:

Code:

[  10.574332] wlan: [843:E :HDD] hdd_wlan_startup: Invalid MAC address in NV, using MAC from ini file 50:56:a8:01:00:17
And if you search on the IEEE OUI database for 50:56:a8 you'll find that is assigned to Jolla Ltd.
i. e. Jolla is not just flashing their Sailfish software onto a noname (chinese) brand device, they are shaping to be a proper device manufacturer.

At least it doesn't lock inside. This is the same than it was with N9, N900 and N810.

No voice. Route instructions for car and walking with map also showing the route as graph.

No, as a basic user you cannot see pics or video . as there is no file manager its hard too see what is where.
Will play in the terminal when i am less tired.
Lack of lanscape browser is annoying .

I really doubt it that the kernel it self is the problem. Most probably it's user space drama (permissions most probably). :)

So, are Mozilla sync and Firefox add-ons supported in the UI, or we'll have to manually enable them? Can anyone with the device confirm?
