Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
@Elleo, could you send me your icon so i can fix the pixelated top ?
Many new apps are having this pixelated top but this could be easily fixed. Thanks |

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Great!
it's getting better and better! Is it possible to actively set cutespotify to offline mode? Or is there actually no sense in doing so? If not, will playing a playlist that is made available offline automatically play the local files? |

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
No prob :-)
Feature request: While playing a song, i want to click further on the artist/album in order to discover more songs. Is that possible? ^^ |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
wout.martens, the pixelated top is a bug with SailfishOS antialiasing. Even the stock icons from Jolla suffer from it. Sure I can stay away 1px from boundaries, but I guess it's better if Jolla fixes the bug.
You can see that it is a bug when you move the icon in the top 4 apps on first page. |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
@Morpog; yes I know and I'm happy you created the icons because I use them every day :) but I can imagine that this bug is not on their priority list to fix. I'm keen on details, most probably like yourself, and this is just one bug which annoyed me from the beginning.

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
mike, I already love your spotify-app so I just sponsored you a pint over at paypals.;)

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
It seems that CuteSpotify works already better on Jolla than the native Android app on top of aliendalvik - it plays sound more than five seconds per play/seek :D Thanks a great deal!
Just finished making an album available offline, and after a few songs it seems to cut some 5-10 seconds (or more?) off the tracks end. Anyone else noticed this? |

Do you've a feature implementation overview to share with us? :-) |

* Cleaned up icon ;) * Support for playlist folders Possible things that may be in the next release, or the one after: * Support for searching for playlists * Fix audio cut off at end of files Further in the future: * Large player that can be popped up by tapping the small player and provides additional controls. * Last.fm scrobbling * Playlist creation/editing * Bluetooth media key support * Rockwatch integration (so playback can be controlled from a Pebble smart watch, plus the facility for any other app to control playback) |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Great app!
Thanks for your effort! |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
New version: http://mikeasoft.com/~mike/harbour-c...11.armv7hl.rpm
Changes: * Icon avoids aliasing issue on launcher * Adds support for playlist folders * Adds support for searching for playlists (this still needs a little polish, loading large playlists can make the UI briefly sluggish) * Fixes audio cut off at end of songs (might not be perfect, but should be a lot better). Hope you all enjoy it :) |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hi Elleo,
thanks again for this app. I was wondering if it would be possible to adjust the volume from outside CuteSpotify app activated or if this is more due to the OS? Related to the upcoming features, Play Queue is really important, the most one I would say. Bug: I have a new song in my inbox, a "1" appears in green background. But when I open the inbox I can't really see which/where this unread song is. In the desktop application, the inbox is sorted by user which I think is crap, just by date of receive is sufficient. I'm not a programmer, can't help much, but a heavy user of Spotify for sure, on every OS. damourti |

As to priorities, basically things get done in the order that they're of interest to me, which might not always line up with your own usage. However if you'd like to sponsor a bounty on a particular issue/feature request, I'll be happy to give it higher priority ;). Quote:
Glad you're enjoying what there is so far though :). |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hi dude!!
How it's going? Thank you so much for the app, is AWESOME! but, Today I rearranged my playlists and rename some. After I went to my Jolla, opened the app and it crashes everytime, I tried uninstalling but I found that uninstalling doesn't delete the "cache" or preferences, and maybe there is the problem. How can be fixed? Or is it a bug? Thank you!! |

I'll add an option to the login screen in the next version to handle this for you. Thanks for the details about renaming and moving playlists, I'll try that myself and see if I'm able to reproduce the issue. |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hi Elleo,
I also would like to say a big thanks for these Application! What I really would love is a possibility to save the position in the queue (and inside the teack) I was listening to automatically when the App is closed. Regarding the global volume ootion. I am using a Bluetooth Stereo Headphone and it's controls work fine even if the App is out of focus. :) Cheers jukey |

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Been enjoying CuteSpotify daily, and the only real complaint is the shuffle mode, as it's way too hard to reach. I'd even go so radical, I'd change the favourite star to the shuffle toggle in the player. :)

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hello Elleo,
since Spotify latest move, do you have any plan to add free account support to cuteSpotify ? http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/15/53...st-days-before Thanks :) |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hello clovis86,
since you are interested in this topic, do you have any plan to read the last few posts of this thread? Thanks :) |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
already did it before writing my post, is the "free account" called "shuffle mode" here ?
EDIT : my bad, was 2 pages before :D Quote:

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
Hi Elleo first of all thanks for porting the app, I like it a lot.
However I recently had an issue: Yesterday I started downloading a Playlist(400 songs) in WLAN, then had to go out and changed to 3g connection and I believe it still downloaded the whole Playlist (while having 2g/3g downloads not enabled). EDIT: It should be fixed as of v1.3.0-12 thanks to Elleo While this might not be possible to check inside the app please write a reminder in the app description. (It costs me quite some money to learn this as I used 1,6 gb while only having 1gb for free). Note: I don't blame you for this but I think it would be just nice to notify others that this can happen, not that anyone else has to pay to learn this. Thanks for taking note of this issue. |

Terribly sorry about that, I just checked the code and it seems I have a little TODO item next to it about updating that stuff to work correctly in Qt5 back from when I initially ported it to Ubuntu Touch. I'll see about fixing it over the weekend and putting out a new release so no-one else gets stung by this. |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
New release now available here: http://mikeasoft.com/~mike/harbour-c...12.armv7hl.rpm
Changes: * Fix detection of WLAN vs 3G/2G connection * Add option to clear cache and offline storage when logged out (pull down menu on the login page) * Add shuffle and repeat to a push up menu under the small player view. |
Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish
EDIT: OK I managed to update now. Shuffle is now in its right place. same as native media player. But does it need to be in two places?
Also: Could you give us a little more information about the "larger player" your planning? There's some discussion about this (which you might have already noticed): https://together.jolla.com/question/...a-music-store/ particularly: "Not sure I like the idea of one program to rule them all. In my experience it's better to have specialised programs. So if you use spotify get a spotify client instead of integrating god knows how many services in the gallery. Gallery should stay reasonably clean IMHO. AxMi-24 (13 hours ago)edit @AxMi-24 It wouldn't have to be hardcoded, they could use a plugin approach, if the user wants the functionality could install it or if worried about feature bloat leave it out. I am certainly not in favour of shoving things down people's throat that they don't want. fasza2mobile (11 hours ago)edit" which I think are valid arguments. Will user be able to choose only "cuteSpotify" if she/he doesn't want any other option? Nice work you're doing, gotta give BIG thank you! |
