UI is much, much better now coderus, well done!
I noticed now: image resizing on uploading is not supported at the moment, right? I hope it will (I will add issue un github if you prefer so).

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Coderus I synced with the most recent version (1.8) and that worked just fine.
However, it took some time - the only way for me to realize sync was still in progress was to tail -f the whatsapp-logfile, you should maybe add an indicator bar or something.
Maybe I was too impatient when I tried earlier:)
Thank you again for your great work !

I can`t get my device to register.

It won`t go further than "Checking Account"

I should have registered many months before

btw Hi@all

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Watchmaker why you need image resizing?
@inte syncing procedure is very complex, and having an indicator is extra headache. It have banners for sync start and finish/fail. Isnt it enough?
@Elyos what version you using? If latest - mail me your log file please.

I am sorry Coderus , i was to fast by writing " i am still appearing "online" for my friends if i close mitakuuluu by swiping down..."
I found option in settings and by activation that option it is everything great...when i close mitakuuluu i appear as "last seen at..."...perfect client...

Do you think you could make daemon start together with booting phone ? So that we don't need to start one time mitakuuluu before background daemon is started ?

Best regrads

nah, just tell me does it have integrated voice recording / voice playing features? If it does, I will download it right away :)

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Transition from portrait to landscape is not quite smooth when the keyboard is open. It takes like 10 seconds for the vkb to open in landscape after the transition. If I close the keyboard in portrait before turning the phone there is no problem.

When tilting the phone from landscape to portrait with vkb open the screen is shifted to right (halfway off the screen). Tilting the phone to landscape and back or closing vkb before transition fixes this

I'm using the v0.1-8.

Otherwise it seems to be working good enough for daily usage.

You are kidding right ? This one of fastest growing projects on jolla... Developer is making new updates almost every day with new options and bug fixes... You can't expect that everything works in first release... Whatsapp official is around couple of years now and they managed couple months ago to implement futures that you asking for on Windows Phone...so took them years of work...

Open source needs more support from users...
I assume you bought your jolla phone because you like challenges , you like opensource and you like to test / support new projects ? because if you bought it to use only android apps on it than it was better for you to buy original android phone... It will take some time before all apps are natively running on jolla, it will not happen over the night...:D

For the way I use whatsapp (informal/stupid chat) I usually don't need to send full resolution photos (also to save bandwidth when on 3g). If I really need to send a full resolution image, I use email.
I noticed that the images my friends send me are less than 50kb on average, I sent only one taken with the Jolla and it was 1,3mb (and crashed my friend's iPhone's whatsapp, poor silly thing :p).

I got your idea here, yet it does not answer my original question ;) I bought Jolla to support the new company, yes. However, I don't mind about open source things.

For my expections, yes, I would like to have the voice recording / playback functionalities, because I need them. That's why I am using the android version for now. If it makes you any happier, before Jolla I used N9 which I still love, and which relied pretty much on community apps and ports.

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Medolino2009 i can, but its not allowed by Jolla Store at moment :)
@oskaripottu what extensions your videos have? do you switched media type to video to be displayed?
@jusE no, i can make it only when get Jolla
@Watchmaker okay, create an issue on bugtracker, i implement it when have time

will remove landscape orientation in next build. silica have serious bugs handling landscape. please blame jolla, not me :(

and next version will have conversation and nicknames emojify, no emoji input yet. making emoji input is the hardest part of developing. its very tricky on jolla.

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

First thanks so much for a native whatsapp client that also looks really good.

At the moment it is only on the level of android whatsapp + contact synchronisation or am I doing anything wrong that i haven't any notification after i closed the app without quitting it?
As far as I know there is a daemon running. If this is the case it currently only uses resources without a function, right?

After swiping down the app you won't get any notification about incoming messages. That's what I meant.

Hi,

Maybe you have problem with wifi / 3G bug ? when your connection change (from wifi to 3g for example) , mitakuuluu stays in "waiting for connection mode"...

Or possibly you don't have last version ? (last one is 0.1-8)

Best regards

Miki

Hi Coderus,

i have found bug... not sure if it is related to mitakuuluu or is it jolla bug....

If i go outside of my house, so my connection change from wifi to mobile 3G mitakuuluu stays in "waiting for connection" mode until i tap on quit so that daemon closes down together with frontend....With new start up of mitakuuluu it logs in and everything is ok until next change of connection ...

Are you aware of this one ?

Best regards

Miki (Medolino2009)

I use 0.1.6 because changelog didnt show something I really need.
So you say you get notifications? Thats nice to hear. In my cases I think I didn't get them while beeing home with wlan the whole time between two uses of the GUI.
But maybe the wlan connection got lost and the daemon didn't reconnect.

EDIT:
Otherwise... there is "Fixed notification" listed in 0.1.7. I guess I should update :).

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

oh, i should add restriction of receiving bugreports: "only latest versions"

@CLRS530 there are always many bugfixies in codebase, not listed in changelog

p.s. v0.1-9 with connection fix and other will be published tomorrow :)

Problem seems to be <. The whole line is sent correctly (if receiver uses another Whatsapp client, it's rendered right) but Mitakuuluu cuts the line before < symbol.
