Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
I made some hacking and now I can also receive and send group messages with telepathy. They are just "converted" to normal messages. As a negative side they also show up in the phone book as normal contacts, but it doesn't bother me too much.
This is still far from ready, Android app is needed for sending/receiving pictures etc, but at least I can get reliable notifications of messages. Here is my github branch with the group message hack: https://github.com/TemeV/telepathy-m...SailfisOsHacks |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Would it be possible to implement that kind of hack for XMPP as well?

Someone that could translate that? http://aseman.co/en/products/cutegram/ |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
I read in the qml code of the messenger app that there's code for group chat so this isn't finished?

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
I tried Sailogram and... if i try to open the app 10 times, the app runs only one time with some luck, is always connecting and never ends.
Anyone with the same issue or know how fix it? Thanks. |

As I wrote in OpenRepos, I will fix those login issues in 0.8 :) |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
I tried to uninstall and install only but i will try this, thank you =)
PS: i have a problem, i dont have .local on my nemo folder. PS2: solved i had activated the hidden folders on. |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Install/Uninstall doesn't work because Sailfish leaves application settings in .local/share, the only way that I know in order to reset an application is to delete its settings manually.
Yes, ".local" is an hidden folder :) |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
@Dax
Harbour-sailorgram is deleted but im in the same situation, if click on connect again Sailorgram closed automatically. |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Can you try to execute sailorgram from terminal and post here the last part of the log?

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Mmmmh, error code 17 means that your local time is ahead compared to Telegram local time.
Sailorgram 0.7x uses Cutegram libraries, and, for some reason it doesn't re-sync using the correct delta (client_local_time - telegram_local_time). This should be fixed in 0.8 which is under development (I have tried with different timezones and the new library always re-sync time delta). (Sometimes this issue happens if you have set a wrong timezone + localime in your Jolla phone) |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Then i wait for the 0.8 version, thank you for the explanation and the efforts with Sailorgram.
PS: Sailorgram work only the first time after turning on the phone, the rest of times never connect... if this can help. |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
works ok on my Jolla, only from time to time drops connection, I use automatic update in Settings->Time and date.
|
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
Sailorgram runs ok with automatic time zone... now i receive notifications ramdomly but Sailorgram dont have many options to manage... any ideas?

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
If here is some brave soul interested in Telepathy-Morse aka Telegram connection manager for Telepathy, I've now built everything needed for using it with Sailfish. RPMs are available in obs
http://repo.merproject.org/obs/home:...atest_armv7hl/ and sources in my github https://github.com/TemeV?tab=repositories You have to install all the packages in that repo. If I've set requirements right enabling the repo and installing telepathy-morse should install all the other packages also. Morse requires TelepathyQt version 0.9.6.1 and it requires the rest of the packages. Logging in with Morse doesn't work with Sailfish so I made a small app to fix that. Use Morse-login app to log in first and then you can start using Morse itself. Use mc-tool with command line to set up the account. Integration to accounts UI is also coming at some point. |

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
yes but however is better than whatsapp
|
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS

And if he would be in exile what exactly stopped him to move it to other country where no one would be able to control it, same as any other project that was closed in russia and registered abroad to keep living. Or you think he is a good guy and he made free social network and did not use user information as source of income? if someone has your data and can use it as he wants - there are no good or bad guys, just those that have your private info they can use as they desire :) Edit: I'm not saying not to use whatsapp or telegram. I actually use the first one. I'm just telling that people should stop lying about privacy if they use any of those and there is no "less evil" thing. If you care you can check TOX or other decentralized project. |

From what I heard, the board suddenly removed him from his position when he refused to comply. He lost control of vk and was replaced by some friend of Putin.

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
It is very astonishing, how fast the question "Are there News about new Version of Sailorgram" leads into the discussion about the trustworthiness of telegram and its owner. As far as i can tell telegram is better than whatsapp, due to their permission to biuld 3rd party clients. I'm not saying, nor am I thinking, that telegram is the best option for secure IM, but it is the best option for me and the better option compared to WA, because people in my contactlist, who are not into the PC-Stuff and such things can use it like WA and Sailorgram is not under pressure from the company of its service like WU is from FB.
We know, there are better ways for secure IM, but, like some other user of this forum put it (can't remember who exactly), 100% security in a comfortably usable way is not possible, so that the lazy DAU can also us it ... So let's end the discussion about the security of telegram and come back to my question, when a Update of Sailorgram is expected. |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
After the last update, the developer has been releasing some betas on the Telegram group (which makes sense) so, albeit there's no ETA, Dax is actively working on it.
