Successfully paired with Bose Soundlink Mini and after that, I was able to pair with my Mazda without any issues. Don't know what the issue was! :p Haven't tested music or phone calls a lot, but it is paired. I will test them in the next few days.

Something is not quite right with audio, but it is working for the most part. It sometimes get stuck. Needed to restart couple times to recover.

Things are looking good though. The phone is really usable!!! :):):)

It doesn't work out of the box but you can add it afterwards. I updated the first post accordingly.

@bluefoot: Regarding battery consumption in idle can you please test following with me: Install sysmon from warehouse and monitor your current battery life for some hours / a day. Afterwards install powertop from console and toggle as root the cpu-scheduler in the last tab from bad to good and monitor battery consumption again? Thank you.

Can you elaborate how to activate LPM? Although I have applied the commands given, I cannot use double tap to wake.

Finally figured out. By long pressing Mobile data and manually Editing and setting the T-Mobile APN to fast.t-mobile.com, it started connecting to 4G. I am getting between 10MB-25MB speed so far, using SpeedOf.me HTML5 speed test site. Pretty happy :) :)
Does Sailfish ever say LTE? Or it just says 4G? In USA I had 2G on my Jolla, so never seen it. Finally SailfishOS can be used in USA.

Re: SailfishOS on Nexus 5

Still three annoying problems left:

1. Call volume too low.
I tried:
Code:

$ pactl set-sink-volume 1 100%
$ pactl set-sink-volume 1 500%
$ pacmd set-source-volume 1 65536

etc, bu no luck!!!

Anyone know how to tune it?

2, Screen stops responding to touch sometime. It never recovers and end up rebooting to reset it. Anyone else having this issue?

3. Bluetooth still get stuck. Call does not work, but music works from some apps (YTPlayer) some times!

But still, I feel happier with this than Jolla. I think it is because of the more reliable mobile connection in USA (it was okay for the most part with Jolla because I have wifi, but still). Nexus 5 seems to connect 4G :):):) (with more than 70% antenna) even from my office basement, where Jolla never found the 2G network. I haven't found a blind spot in my daily routine places with Nexus 5.

Looking forward for the next alpha/beta release.

Thanks for the report, it does sound like the Nexus 5 port is getting more stable. I'm also based in the US, and was waiting for a reasonably spec'd device with US 3G bands at a point in time where the respective Sailfish port was nearing maturity. Based on the what I'm hearing, it sounds like the OnePlus One port is also making a lot of progress. I'm not a big fan of the phablet footprint, but I may just take the plunge and give it a whirl soon...

I have also issues with the LPM from time to time but in general LPM should work. The LPM is activated automatically using proximity sensor. Try to mask the sensor (upper right corner) with your hand.

@all: This is a community project. The more we help out with bug reporting and documentation the more those ports will be usable day to day.

Please post your findings here and use the bugtracker mentioned in the first post. If you have some howtos of general interest i will add them too. And don't be shy to ask the porters / developers on IRC :-)

Thank you, I will fill a bug. Please switch back by editing the file
Code:

Re: SailfishOS on Nexus 5

@m4r0v3r: I fear you are running in different issues now as the default version of cameraplus is not the same as the one on openrepos. I would disable MSameer's repo, remove cameraplus and re-install the default cameraplus. I reproduced your first issues but i was able to get cameraplus running again by editing the mentioned configuration file.

Try
Code:

pkcon install harbour-cameraplus
This will install
Code:

http://repo.merproject.org/obs/home:/sledge:/experimental:/gstdroid/sailfish_latest_armv7hl/armv7hl/harbour-cameraplus-0.0.29+droidmedia.20150504202426.90.g1a753a9-10.13.1.jolla.armv7hl.rpm

would I have to extract cameraplus from the zip to get it running again? and the same issues plagued me both the default version and MSameers version,

think ama just go for a clean flash, when I copied over from the zip it started to complain that a Qt module was missing.

Well I started playing with the config file, /home/nemo/.config/mupen64plus/mupen64plus.cfg

Increased resolution:
[Video-General]
# Use fullscreen mode if True, or windowed mode if False
Fullscreen = True
# Width of output window or fullscreen width
ScreenWidth = 1080
# Height of output window or fullscreen height
ScreenHeight = 1920

I still haven't figured out how to change resolution to landscape or enable control. There is a lot more settings in the configuration file, if you want to play with it.

Re: SailfishOS on Nexus 5

I think we need to figure out how SDL sees the touchscreen because this section of the config file:

# Mupen64Plus SDL Input Plugin config parameter version number. Please don't change this version number.
version = 2
# Controller configuration mode: 0=Fully Manual, 1=Auto with named SDL Device, 2=Fully automatic
mode = 2
# Specifies which joystick is bound to this controller: -1=No joystick, 0 or more= SDL Joystick number
device = -1
# SDL joystick name (or Keyboard)
name = "Keyboard"

i have updated the rpm to include the proper default settings for the Nexus 5, just update the emulator, delete ~/.config/mupen64plus/mupen64plus.cfg and rerun the emulator

have fun :)

Edit: Store seems to be under construction so apps might not be found.

Changelog from XDA: Alpha12 - 19 June 2015
  • Support for 5GHz WLAN APs
  • Sailfish OS Update 15 (release notes)
  • BUG: Jolla Store broken (server side), apologies but that's the burden we all have to bear until the Jolla Tablet comes out, in the meantime pls use Warehouse from Openrepos for apps (subscribe to bug for updates)
  • BUG: Camera shows blackscreen when restoring the app. Can be worked around by restarting it (subscribe to bug for updates)
  • BUG: Videos still have no sound, and app crashes on stop recording, but video is saved (subscribe to bug for updates)

I will give an update later but so far the build seems to be stable.

I am not attending anything as indicated above this is the 'official' changelog from the 'official' XDA thread. But i guess that with the tablet release the store has to be ready to handle multiple devices regarding display size and so on and those infrastructure rearrangements are still ongoing and impacting our beloved ports.

You might be right on this.

General feedback: Personally i would not recommend alpha12. If you use alpha11 stick with it. With alpha12 I observe a worse battery life, some minor regressions regarding cameraplus and more frequent freezes on the lockscreen, see the bugtracker for details.

I installed Alpha12 and used it for couple days. Everything worked fine. Today it started to restarting when pressing power button to unlock screen or locking the screen. Now it's in constant boot loop with Google logo managing to appear for second...

How to trace what happens and possibly help developers to solve this if I try to install it again?
