In PlaylistDevice.py function __add_item_to_playlist, there is a check for "if (count[0] >= 500): return". It appears to be some sort of anti-infinite-loop check. The arrangement of directories and files meant that after skipping directories and adding 445 files, this check passed and adding stopped. I bumped it up to 5000, ran again, and saw a playlist more like I expected .

Hi-

I just stumbled across Mediabox and like it a lot. It would be great if it handled larger playlists, I assume the file above is part of the source code and I would need to rebuild the app, is that correct? If so, is there an easier way?

Also, and I know I am hoping for a lot, is there some way to play wav files with mediabox?

Thanks for the great app,
Fred

The application is written in python, so no need to rebuild anything. Install the source code, modify it and run it in site.

Mediabox plays wavs just fine.

Anyone got a list of supported upnp-devices?

As my Netgear ReadyNas Duo does not show in Storage & Networks i have to consider buying a new one thats supported.

Not quite. For startup performance reasons, installing MediaBox from .deb file installs a byte-compiled version.

First make sure that your Nxx0 can see the NAS at all. Does it appear in the Maemo file manager? Even if your NAS was incompatible it would normally show up in Storage & Networks.
There is a bug in 2010.01.05 that caused some devices to not be listed, although MediaBox discovers them. This will be fixed soon.
I don't think that you have to buy another NAS.

Thanks, I will download the source and make the suggested change. However, when I try and play a voicemail that comes from Microsoft unified messaging I get a banner across the top of the window that has zero in it and it stops playing.

Thanks again,
Fred

No it doesn't. Don't know how to mount/get a drive connected. New to Linux.

Sounds great. Hope to get mine up and running too. Like the thought of having a mediacenter on my N900.

Does your NAS support UPnP (should state UPnP or DLNA on the box) or is it a SMB share?
If it's only a SMB share, don't worry. Windows Media Player can act as UPnP server, too, serving files from the NAS.
