If you cannot update the firmware OTA, and it tells you there is a conflict with libqt4-test 4.6.2~git20100401-0maemo1+0m5, try to uninstall phototranslator-alpha or healthcheck applications first. Then you should be able to install the update OTA.

received the update notification about an hour ago on my way home from uni, what network you on? I doubt it will have anything to do with that though

Is that a VF firmware? Mine's not locked but it came from VF... It's now on GiffGaff but I've tried updating over the 3G and WIFI and neither see the update...

Hey all,

Ive installed the pr 1.3 version thru the nokia suite software on my pc. it is about 200 MB. But be aware all ur apps will be gone.. the settings of it will stay,

so you need to make a backup of all ur apps... ;)

I wasnt able to install it over the air.. Cuz it said that i needed to connect my phone with the nokia suite to install this.. So i did that and it worked.. I saw the update thru the nokia software updater on my computer what is built in the Nokia Suite. so everyone could try that ;)

second of all i didnt notice any changes at all ?? so am i the only one ? and what about meego ??

http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/Install/Dual_Boot

Nitdroid is also gone just like all my apps, ( dual boot app "multi-boot" ) So i wasnt able to boot on nitdroid..

i didnt want to brick my phone again into an unstoppable loop of booting -_-.. so i deleted and formatted my SD card

I installed all the apps (about 30 apps ) again 1 by 1. It took me about 2 hours :(
installed Swappolube and kernel40 again, and all the mods..

gr,

psych

Do whatever you need to do with maemo, backup everything.

Bootup nitdroid, backup your apps and desktop settings, then do your upgrade to PR 1.3. When all settled, and you have at least 30 min or so, then re-install nitdroid, then multiboot, then power kernel, then bootup nitdroid, restore desktop and apps.

everything works, so far

If I reboot then I will get the SMS reply and it will display in the Conversations list. This is terrible I need to do a clean reflash of this.

This is lame! I have to reboot every time to get my SMS displaying in my conversations :D Is this a privacy bug?

UPDATE: I jumped the gun, this does not fix the problem... but I'll leave it there so the problem is known... it's just one of my contacts... I'll continue to check what's special about this contact... skype number/google talk maybe... sucky, I should have never updated!

UPDATE 2: It does seem to be related to the +1 before the contacts number, the only problem is, changing it in my contact list doesn't help, because as soon as they text me, it updates the number back to the +1555 555 5555 version, which breaks outgoing texts again...

Not sure if it's related to your problem, but after I updated to 1.3 (if that is what it's called) SMS conversation with one of my contacts freaked out, the outgoing message would never be marked as sent (even though the contact replied to the message (as in proof they had gotten it), and the network confirmed delivery), the worst part of the freak out was after that, any conversation I had with that contact would be deleted if I closed that conversation.

i had package conflict trying to update OTA. this was due to the custom hildon-desktop that i installed. unpinned it in /etc/apt/preferences and OTA updates work.
