Perhaps I did not make myself clear. Say you're about to send a text and the generic virtual keyboard is active, you know the moment you tap on that space to type the virtual keyboard pops up. Now, if you turn off the virtual keyboard in order to use fastsms keyboard, this does not happen. You'd have to MANUALLY select fastsms to send such a text.

Manually select what? You click on the text box with the hardware keyboard closed, and boom, FastSMSEvo keyboard pops up. It can be a tad slower to pop up than the native one, but barely.

No you don't. You are using fastsmsEVO, right? FastSMS is just an app, FastSMSEvo is sytem-wide vkb that overrides the default nokia one

Ok. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I installed both the fastsms and the fastsmsevo. Then I disabled the generic nokia virtual keyboard in the setting. but when I tab on blank spot to type, the keyboard does not show. Could you kindly instruct me on what I need to know to get it to work? Thanks.

Actually, you're supposed to enable the Nokia virtual keyboard in settings and this should bring up the FastSMS keyboard. Once you click on a blank spot, it will take a while to load the FastSMS keyboard the first time (maybe even a minute or two) and every time you reboot.

Eheh, thank you godofwar424!

I just uploaded a new version of fastsms: 0.5-6 (it will take some minutes to be available) with some fixes:

* auto-change kb layout based on preferences and orientation: from option menu you can choose which keyboard layout you prefer for landscape and portait orientation.

* added 'option' and 'new word' to menu (for use with fastsmsevo): so you can add new word from the vkb. New words are saved immediately

* Improved button sensibility: this is perhaps the major fix. Checking the kb is more explanatory than every words :)

Please consider this release as a "half-release": I know that while in landscape, with alphanumeric layout, no all menu voice are accesible...and there are some bugs like the one below

EDIT: When you insert a new word, text isn't commited

There are some answer to old post...

Enter-key for microb: I'm planning something like a green check when vkb is used is microb, this is

possible but not so easy...

This is impossible because the vkb doesn't know where puts text you typed!!!

@Alfred: thank you for russian layout! I will add this one asap!

@richwhite: I've experienced your problem only when fastsmsevo is at first start: tap on a text field,

close the application (for example conversation) and then wait...are you in this case? However you can

send me logs file. Please check if there are sensible data before send
As Mentalist Traceur said, Fastsms takes buttons color from theme and load time is quite long because it

have to load all the dictionary in memory, others vkb haven't this task on boot time

rectified thru this app?

Do this happen in all sites or only in some? I never had this problem...Please consider also that low

level code, like the one that show the vkb, is the same of the standard one.
