Can it be installed on phone's memory and if so do I need to flash/format?

I have 2gb microsd card, is that enough? And if it is and I can install on it do I still need to flash/lose all my stuff from maemo?

Anyone?
From what I gathered it can be installed on emmc(aka phone memory) but do I need to flash/format it and loose data/settings?

Yes you do have to format the EMMC and reflash the kernel if your installing NITDroid for the first time.

Read the WIKI on the first post.

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

One quick question I wanted to know is that if there is any significant difference in the gingerbread versions posted by mido.fayad and the one posted by ammyt on page 1?

NO YOU DONT
installing nitdroid wont delete anything on your 32gb (internal memory)
dont answer unless you know it. people like you make people confused so then they ask same question over and over.

2gb is enough although this method is for internal memory so you dont need the card!

also flashing kernel for nitdroid has nothing to do with maemo... stop spreading the wrong words

No, No, No. The EMMC will not get formatted! You see nitdroid installation is summarized below:
You will download a package containing multibbot and prequisites called nitdroid-installer, only, youwill not run it just install it. Then you download nitdroid system files to MyDocs as an archive, then you unarchive them to a folder you will create in /home/user called /and. Then you install the kernel which is required to boot android's system files.

i think all apps are in this directory (for ammyt's emmc guide) /home/system/app/ boot in to maemo and go to this directory using file box or winscp or watever u prefer and den delete the application u installed....i think this may help if not then i dont hav any other ideas....:)

mount the android partition in maemo
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and

go to the data directory
cd /and/data

delete the ofono directory here.
rm -rf ofono

finally reboot into your nitdroid installation. u will find ur phone settings back at automatic and no airplane mode getting set by default.

great it worked, normaltusker thks a lot for the help.

not /home/system/app
first of all open up terminal and type
root
mount /home /and

then use filebox or winscp and go to /and/data and delete the folder of that software... this will delete the software!

If i install e-yes's gingerbread is it already rooted or do i have to root it myself coz wen i had 0.0.9 there were some apps like flash player 10.1, angry birds & a few more that wud not install at all. I assume thats coz it was not rooted. So how do i root e-yes's gingerbread?

How can I keep Market running? I just hard-press camkey and open settings and go to running and the process "Market" is not there, just "settings" "services" and "keyboard"!!

...oh the guide was just off, it was the normal apps not "running" ones

@funkmunk
install new kernel, instructions on first page and you will be able to install angry birds (new kernel fixes issue with installation space. secondly flash player beta is installable not final!

@tHMZ
when it says keep market running. this means open it up then press the camera button (so it goes back to homescreen) then go to settings and follow what it says next
