Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Keep in mind that Sakya is mostly just porting this emulator (excellent user interface, by the way!) and I don't know if PCSX-ReArmed has any multiplayer support built-in at all.
PCSX-Reloaded does, but ReArmed is totally different.

Ask Notaz in this thread whether the OpenPandora version supports multiplayer and it's just a flaw in the Maemo port, or if the current codebase simply doesn't allow for player 2 input.

This is really nice. Most games work at a playable speed even without overclocking.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

[edit]
already partially solved my problem. All I needed was some rest. :D

original post here:
http://pastebin.com/32kMMpGD

Fixed stuff:
savestates/memcard now work for pcsx-r

remaining problem:
Valkyrie Profile is unplayable on psx4m, phone freezes on New Game

other remarks:

Valkyrie Profile runs at a nice fps rate (if I'm reading it right, it's around 50-60 on dialogs and 30-50 on battles) (not full screen, with sound) There would be a few hiccups but they just last a second. This is on the pcsx-r, just default settings.

[edit]
full screen mode, sound on, default pcsx-r settings
dialog scenes: 55-60 fps
battle scenes: 30-55 fps

I do not understand, only I have a bug - all games crashing on "gpu-neon" ?????

Maybe to high cpu frequency ? Pcsx appears to be much more stable using neon plugin with cpu set to 805mhz than 1ghz.

Anyway. Has anyone signed accelerometer as a analog stick in Colony Wars ? It runs really well with gles plugin, sound and no frameskipping.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

i have 950mhz with +smart reflex, i believe that this is the optimal frequency for this device, for energy efficiency and performance.
well, now we will try to do some experimentation relative cpu frequency.
that's just I do not believe in this experiment))

AndyTitan 2013-09-04 12:21

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

lol, i dont believe, on "frequency 900" no more crashes 0_o
on "frequency 950" games crashing 8/10 times 0_o...
its amazing, tnks man ))

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

I think smart reflex is guaranteed to work only up to 805 Mhz (as madry72) suggested. Values above are unstable and can even reboot your N900 under havy load... Unless you disable smart reflex before overclocking higher, if you really need higher speeds (the cost is faster battery draining).

Smart reflex clearly was a cause of @AndyTitan crashes, but as I said n900 can be unstable while using neon on high frequencys. It was said in some post on this thread. In addition I see that overlclocking doesn't increase fps while using neon plugin. It can only reduce stuttering of sound.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

nop, 900+ smart reflex no more crashes! - some sounde bugs, but its not important for me.
with smart reflex battery life increases up to 160% 180% game play time(and uptime on all mods). without smart reflext battery die very fast...

Good for you. Mine crashed few times on 950-1000mhz.
Anyway, you compare your game play time with smart reflex enabled to that on stock voltages ?

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

nop, only on 950mhz,(core config on start) but i think on stock frequency + smartreflex, in any case wile extend more life battery.
"smart reflex" very interesting and relevant technology for mobile processors and systems.
and I can assure that it prolongs the life of your battery to 150-180%.(950+)
on stock frequency wile be to effect + 10 - 30% more uptime.
my english is so bad, but you can read more about smart reflex technology, to understend how it works.

What games are playable at stock 600MHz?
there are a bunch of games I'd like to play that are mostly 2d graphics like Suikoden I and II, Tomba!, Silhouette Mirage, Heart of Darkness, Megaman games, and 2d RPG's..

Does anyone know if these 2d games would run fine at 600 stock?

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

@AndyTitan - SmartReflex is stable only up to (and including) 805 MHz, anything above will result in problems.

i'm using 900mhz for more than a year now - works very good for me.

If most of 3d games are playable at 600mhz these 2d titles should run well too, but a must be here is neon plugin. Of course you can try others plugins like gles and post here your results.I am going through the 3cd of FFIX and on stock frequency I have got nearly 60fps at map and 40 at battle scenes (without frameskip ). The same in FFVII.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

I have problem with PSX4M. The emulator hasn't created .pcsx folder in home/user after installation. I've added bios and rom localization, but nothing happened.

What can I do? Can anyone upload his own .pcsx folder?

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Check permission on config file.
Open a terminal and:

ls -l /home/user/.config/Team16/

Try to remove the directory /home/user/.config/Team16/
Open a terminal and:

sudo gainroot
rm -rf /home/user/.config/Team16
exit

Relaunch the gui, it should recreate the directory with correct permission.

its is Work!!!!

Has someone else tried Legend of Mana on this?

Game is unplayable past the intro movie (after you select your home map)
