Nice, seems Black-on-Black is the most ordered combo, now how that surprises me :p

To tell the truth I cannot even remember what did I order, it was some surprise combination like Fuchsia-on-Aluminide or whatever.
(as I did not want it for the fancy colors but for the functionality...)

Any update on the black option, is the problem solved?
Will all who ordered black and did not update choice get arbitrary colours like orange, pink, purple and lime green, or combination of these?

As a matter of fact I pressed 200 PCBs in black casings today. Boom.

I will regret for the rest of my life not having 'random' as colour option and you-are-a-sissy-if-you-do-not-go-for-random-campaign

But anyway, first time I going to alumide/alumide but I saw bad first fotos of alumide toholed and went to safe black/black combo. When I see real and better fotos of alumide - I regret about choice and going to order alumide from SW...

I ordered for black-black-carbon fibre finish, I dont see carbon fibre count in the breakup you provided.

I liked other color combinations, but I was afraid that in reality the plastic was not as shiny and perfect as on the picker so went the black-on-black-on-black route where even if the plastic is not as great it doesn't stand out too much. Maybe for TOH2+Jolla2 ;)

Bunch of those who liked the N900 design over here. And also those, who plan to use TOHKBD in their daily life, including professional life, where showing off shiny colors usually indicates nothing more than a lack of taste. Functionality before extravaganza.

AFAIR, we will be able to order more colors through Shapeways, right Dirk?

And also bunch of those like me who loved slide-out portrait keyboard of the HP Pre 3 and are looking for "a" hardware keyboard 'cause they miss one in general rather missing one by design (like the N900 crew).

I suppose so but I remember vaguely that someone once posted about trying to order one and the quoted price was about double the price of a new TOHOLED. If only I could find that post...

The TOHBKD V2 is sold out, of course. But me, one of those who wasn't brave enough would at some point in life get a second chance even if its in an age where cellphones is a memory blue and people walk around with brainplants instead.

Would dirkv ever when he has rested after mounting all those units perhaps either produce a few more or license the thing to either Jolla or some other freaky company?

I do understand, it is a low volume thing, its a hell to produce, and its just one poor guy working his *** off, but...nevertheless?

EDIT: I only had to click two pages back to find an answer.
Then my only wish is: If its later available in parts, please make a veeery good assembly instruction for it.

Great job, pretty cool you took the time for it. Not surprising is that people buy matching colors (the diagonal is about a magnitude higher than the rest in the according row/column), and that people like black. What I find surprising is that there are "only" 1500 keyboards ordered so far, that's a really tiny number in the phone segment, I wonder: I it even economically viable for you? (I hope so...). Also surprising to me is that Alumide has such a comparingly low fraction, we are already in the premium segment with the keyboard, so looks like people really just strongly prefer black.
So thanks again for taking the time to put this together, I found it very valuable and I am very much looking forward to being able to order one myself soon (hopefully an assembled one ^^).
Meanwhile I'd be curious in statistics for the backplate. Let me guess: Place 1: Steel Black, 2: Carbon Black, 3: Steel Gray?
