Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

Come on, please stop with this ********. These very long "delayed update" situation is all due to unexpected difficulties in the upgrade to Qt 5.2... not to say that it was not a mistake (it was indeed a quite big underestimation of the consequences of such a big thing, i.e. something went wrong), but I expect them to return to their regular monthly updates once this crisis is over. If not, I will complain. But until then, nobody can really say if the whole "monthly update" thing is not feasible at this point. For a long time, it has been.

Qt isn't the issue anymore as far as I know but memory improvement issues...
https://together.jolla.com/question/...s-of-update10/

So sailfish moves to auto close to free memory...first step against android handling?!?! Hope they give option to user to decide on/off.

We don't live in the past. We live here and now and our memory is very short. We are the customers of today, shopping for the products of tomorrow. We appreciate products we can use today, not what we used yesterday. We are driving the business and we do not back down until we get the latest of updates. Our memory is very short so latest update is always the only important one. Nothing else matters. Our memory is short. Give it to us yesterday so we can go for sailfish 2.0 of tomorrow.

Five reasons why sail 2.0 should worry AppleGoogleMicrosoft

Low-memory handling issues are a regression caused by the move to Qt 5.2, AFAIU (but I only know what I read from people who actually know what they're talking about).

What a nice example of majestic plural you got there. How cute. :p

It's a poem!

Then we should ask Woot about it. Strange if Qt can be blamed here...where is Woot when we need him?

true. And that a reason he can help us understand since he have knowledge of Qt+Sails code base.

Woot could explain stuff jolla employees would hide from the users.

..to abandon JOLLA?

So, after one year of using Jolla as My main phone, I'm to deside to use it for one more Year or change it to something else.

Last month I was on trip in Portugal and after with motorbike to sahara for two weeks. After this weeks of, maybe more extreem usage, I found weakness of My Jolla.

Fotos are unusable (so no memories)!
Last few days Jolla restarts 10-20 times per day!
More and more I'm using an android apps(calendar, Facebook, Opera, Viber, Here maps..!

I was aspecting Jolla 2 instead of tablet so new phone won't be ther for, at least one more Year.
I can't wait so long.

Sorry Jolla but, I think this will be GOODBYE!

Did you contact Jolla Care?? This definitely calls for a warranty repair - people usually get it back in a matter of days.
I have noticed this interesting behavior of some Jolla users - if they had a Samsung and it had 10-20 restarts per day, they wouldn't wait an hour and rush to get it replaced under warranty. In case of Jolla, they often say "there is a problem, I quit" :)

Yes, the same thing unfortunately happened to me - scratched lenses (without any reason). I am seriously thinking of sending it for warranty repair (I think it would be justified). Here's a thread about it.
