Wow. So actually, Wind will be more expensive than Fido. :(

$15 is the cheapest voice plan. $35 is the only data add-on. So $50 is the cheapest voice+data package. Plus, there's no SIM-only package.

So is "unlimited" 3G (in a fairly restricted area, I bet) instead of 500MB EDGE worth +$10/month for me? Probably not, since I spend so much time in wifi areas.

And I had such high hopes. So much for competition.

Just as promised, I'm reporting that I got my N900 fron Newegg.ca and I did not have to pay any duties or taxes beyond from what I paid at Neweggs website. Yay!

Total cost: ~CAD 681, and it took 6 days (including a weekend) to arrive to Edmonton.

Newegg.ca is showing the N900 as "deactivated"... that doesn't sound good.

I think "deactivated" just means that it's not in stock at the moment. That's the way it was before they sold a batch last week, and they must set it back that way until they receive more.

I e-mailed newegg to know when the N900 should be back in stock... Here's the answer from them...

Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Newegg. I would first like to apologize, unfortunately this item is deactivated which means at this time we do not have any indication to if and/or when we will be receiving this product. I would you advise you to check back within a week or so and we may have it available for purchase. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed that the item comes back however usually deactivated products do not come back. If you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me directly for further assistance. In the meantime, have a great day.

That sounds bad

How did you get it into Canada? Amazon US wouldn't ship it to Canada :(

You must get it shipped to a place near the borders, and then cross and get it... A lot of trouble!!!!
I think I'm gonna wait a little bit until it is available from newegg... and you ???

I registered with shipito.com for an US address; Amazon shipped it there. Shipito shipped it to Alberta via USPS.

What I would like to know is how joshua.maverick managed to get a refund from Amazon in lieu of rebate from Nokia. Do you mind sharing your experience, joshua.maverick? It's much appreciated!

I ordered on Amazon and got it shipped to a relative in the US.

They are going to be coming up here in the beginning of January.

But I can't wait that long :(.

I am looking into the price of them shipping it to me. I'd have to consider tax/duty.
