Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
With the amount of money that I have I can get 2 N9's and sell them here in the USA for $650 + shipping fee (that UPS or FedEx usually charges).. I can get two from Malaysia, PM me if you're interested. (I'm located in Michigan so the closer the better and faster IMO, but I'm willing to ship anywhere in the U.S.).
EDIT: If I can get more, I will post it here. EDIT2: Btw, I believe the N9's are 16GB (black). |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
uhhh, okay
i received my N9 64G today. i charged it and tried to load as much stuff as i could without a microSIM card. #1 if you hose the connection (ovi store/twitter/facebook - any built-in service - see below) you will have to perform a reset - otherwise you will receive erroneous messages about service availability; google for it if it happens to you and find out about the reset. i went to t-mobile to get a microSIM. i'm not sure if i'm happy with the direction they're taking, but i've been with them for six years so i'll give them a chance. #2 turn off 'suggestions' in music player from the main settings panel, unless you like being marketed to every time you listen to a song. returned home, reset the device, got it connected to t-mo and house services and finally got logged in to ovi. downloaded the apps i thought i need and loaded ten gig of mp3s. #3 facebook and twitter can not be un-installed. #4 the browser is broken, or at least it appears that way to me. it seems to work fine if i click on links from search, but not so well with urls i type directly #5 do i have to have my storage formatted vfat on a linux device? because on my N900 it was ext3, which means the file system didn't freak at mp3 files with crazy characters in their names; Ágætis byrjun anyone? i'm sure i'll find more things, good and bad, as time goes on. i'm really looking forward to PR1.1; as for the good things: #1 beautiful #2 fits in the watch pocket of my jeans, like every other nokia i've owned #3 audio - with dolby enabled (per app, ie. it must be enabled for audio and video separately) you get some extra low-end kick and some spatial, its really nice #4 swipe - it really does rock #5 camera - i'm just getting started with it |

Sardonic remarks are my stock in trade, but my point is serious - they are offering a non-existent product for half the price anyone else would be selling it if it did exist - so you must know that it's a scam... surely? |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I just played with a black N9 at a Vodacom store in Johannesburg, South Africa. They didn't have any in stock for sale, nobody seems to around here, but they were expecting to get them in around the first week of November.
As for price, I was given a rough estimate of R9,000 unlocked, which is around USD$1,150. I'll assume that's the 64GB model, but that's really rather steep. The guy I spoke with is going to e-mail me the correct pricing information when they get the phones in stock. There was a Nokia representative there, talking with someone else at the store. It was his N9 that I was trying out. He kept glancing nervously at me to make sure I wasn't going to run off with his demo device. There were N9 mockups at another store, Nashua Mobile, but no real N9s available for sale yet. They wouldn't sell them off-contract, anyway. |
