Good idea, but if You're doing work to optify pocketsphinx anyway, why wouldn't You upload new version of pocketsphinx (just optified, without any other changes), to extras-devel?

it would be nice to let Gopala krishna know about this change as he is a maintainer according to this page, even if he's not an active member anymore.

I will look into that. However, right now I am having to do a massive rewrite, because it turns out that the Pocketsphinx gstreamer plugin doesn't support context switching. Since this is basically the only way we can get high accuracy and a large vocabulary, that is what I am focusing on now.

Don't worry about not being the maintainer, just upload the new optified version to Devel as suggested by Estel, and then ask for maintenance of poket sphinx when you feel ready to promote Saera to Testing.

If the original maintainer doesn't provide you the necessary rights, PM me.

I am not very good at packaging yet though - I will look into this later this week. For now, anyone running short on rootfs space can use the optify_pocketsphinx.sh script from the first post.

Bad news, I'm afraid. My N900's USB port just broke. I have nobody to blame for this but myself, as I was aware that it was loose but never took the time to strengthen it. I will look into repairing it ASAP; meanwhile I may have to suspend work for a few days. :(

I only encountered one other post reporting that the microphone was not working. Anyone else experienced that? I ran pocketsphinx_continuous and the mic was being recognized just fine. Within Saera, however, I get no reaction.

Just a guess, but is your phone in Silent mode rather than General?
