Nice to hear from you again...the bug listed in this link is described as "mail for exchange freezes when trying to sync calendar and tasks". I think it is the right bug for my case and also for the case of many other users. Don't know what is the exact cause but for me it seems the correct bug reference. good work :) SkyEagle |

It would be nice to have also the notes synced (of course as a separate item) during activesync MFE process. SkyEagle |

The bug id was given in the previous message and I confirm that is Bug 7971 (a.k.a. int-153680). I decided not to return N900 and wait for your work on fix this bug. I hope we'll see the bug fixed in the nex SW update PR 1.2 or in a specific update for MFE. I would really love to start using seriously the N900. I hope the PR 1.2 will improve a little also the basic SW apps (Modest, Calendar etc) and will not be limited to introduce the QT 4.6 (that they will be useful for developers but that don't help the common business user right now). Looking forward to hear good news from you soon, Regards, Cesare |

1) Is seems that the N900 need a real SSL certificate HTC & other Nokia does not need this. You can get a certificate at www.startssl.com for free or buy one from an other source. 2) The next problem i had was that the N900 said it was not compatible with my exchange server. I Solved this problem by updating my Exchange Server 2003 to SP2, witch i should have done a long time ago :) I think that this is the oldest version supported. You can find the guide on google to update the Exchange server. 3) The sync of my calender was in-responsive and after 6 hours is completed. After completion the desktop went unresponsive, and the calender was unable to start up. It was due to several old appointments in my calender was made recursive. I solved this problem by deleting the Mail For Exchange account on the N900, downloaded Nokia PC-Suite and deleting the appointments in the N900, and then I deleted the old appointments in my outlook calender (be careful not to delete the right ones!) Last i re-sync again. |
Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
Has anyone mentioned a bug where their sent folder in their exchange account includes sent emails from other accounts? I have a gmail account set up using Nokia messaging and sent emails using my gmail account are showing up in my sent folder in my exchange account.

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
I'm struggling to get MfE to work on my N900. If I go to the OWA url in the in-phone browser I get "Secure Connection Failed" blahblah.com uses an invalid security certificate. It is invalid because it is self signed
Does this have an impact on MfE? |

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
I've read through this entire thread, and several ones on other forums - and am still having no luck with getting my n900 to talk to Exchange 2003.
Maybe I'm missing something - if I am i'd really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. Current Settings: Firmware: 3.2010.02-8.002 Exchange 2003 (unsure of the service pack) Exchange works on older Nokia E-Series Certificate is registered in Certificate Manager for use with Email, WLAN and Server. Cert is self-signed Tried adding the symlink to the certifcate folder but was told the File already existed And I am getting the classic double error of "Exchange account disabled. Access Refused" "Error in communication with exchange server" Any ideas - have I missed something obvious? |

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
Since this is the thread for MfE I didn't think that it's necessary to open up another one. Here's my problem: I bought this device, sync'd Google Calendar via MfE and all tasks showed up on the desktop widget. All the 5 places for events and tasks were filled, even though the last one was one month away. After updating to PR 1.1.1 via NSU on the device, the events and tasks aren't showing up. I noticed that the MfE sync was gone.
I figured that the problem might be the Nokia PC Suite which I installed so that Win7 64-bit would recognize the N900. I remember that NPCS asked me if I want to sync calendar and stuff via NPCS, but I clicked "no." So I cannot sync Google Calendar anymore? I receive an error which says that MfE Server is unresponsive and that I have to verify my settings. Tried many times but no luck. Restarted the phone, still no luck. Any thoughts? |

And for google to sync without any errors at first you need to delete all your contacts and calendar events then try to do initial sync. if you do not want to delete or loose your calendar events best way I say would be to sync google calendar with new calendar(you can choose this option if you click on advance settings while your configure your MfE.) or just export your calendar somewhere in documents and then save that calendar to your computer, once you do that delete your calendar entries. Then set up your MfE with google after this export your calendar to google via computer(the one you saved in your computer). (doing this will go through the initial sync but later it will give you the same error). As long as we do not get SyncML support I think this the problem we have to live with. Talking about SyncML has there been any words if we will get the SyncML on the next update? |
Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
Thanks dude! Managed to sync it once again! I have deleted the calendar and then sync'd once again. Worked like a charm!
Oh, I don't know anything about SyncEvolution's SyncML coming with the next PR update. |

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
Hi
As a newb and only semi-technical user, can someone offer some guidance on the symlink issue please. I am trying to connect to Exchange 2003 SP2 ( 6.5.7638.1) and I have been getting the secure connection/account disabled message. I've read as much as I can without going blind and have taken the following steps:- 1) Exported our self-signed certificate in all the numerous formats (with and without chains) by going to our webmail via Firefox (exporting as crt,der,p7c are the options I have). 2) Installed these by copying to my N900 and installed them as type of 'Server'. 3) Tried to create these symlinks by running the commands but I always get 'Permission Denied' when running the last command, e.g. ln -s /home/user/.maemosec-certs/ssl-ca/* . ln: ./0082cb3c.0: permission denied ln: ./5c1b5e37eb71994d9a134178a2d4b9e90fe3b7f8.pem: permission denied Can anyone advise please? Many thanks :) |
Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls
Glazza,
I have no idea what you are doing but permission denied can be overrun by installing rootsh and before executing those commands run: sudo gainroot http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/rootsh/ Be careful with that! |
