Re: [v0.6-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I have just seen that there is another panel to manage contacts with the option to add them. So I suppose that only the contacts (and groups) I already sent with Yappari have been synchronized.

Well, I can breath calmly now XD

Thank you a lot, scpecially to Coderus. That function is great! :)

Re: [v0.6-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@malkavian swipe to Contacts page -> menu -> Add contacts -> select contacts you want to add -> accept.

coderus 2014-05-22 11:21

Re: [v0.6-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

And you can always go to Account page in Settings menu and select Delete account option. It will remove your account data from whatsapp server, removing all your synchronized contacts from server and kick you from all groups you participating. At the end your registration token will be destroyed and new registration will be required.

Re: [v0.6-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

would it be possible to have a reconnect cover action?! my network is really flaky and jolla doesn't handle it very well and I often realize hours later that mitakuuluu didn't reconnect properly.

Although I hope this will be fixed with the next update...

Last time I read their privacy policy they said that your data can be retained. And also said that privacy policy could change without noticing to users, and it's assumed users accept it if they continue using the app.

Nowadays maybe it's policy says that your soul is of them.

Well, if you are worried about privacy, you should forget about whatsapp altogether. The whole thing is a disaster security wise, and now that Facebook owns it situation didn't get any better. But as coderus said, this conversation does not belong here

in a nutshell, my account was valid from 21 May 2012 until May 21, 2014 .... now I can not use it ... I can only renew your subscription by paying via paypall, etc..
my question is:
there is a way to delete the account and then re-register?

only with a new phone number. it's free for 1 year, after that, you have to pay.

just to make it clear: this is for using Whatsapp-service, this has nothing to do with Mitakuuluu, as this is only the client for the service.

Oh yeah. I wanted to check if I had installed the latest greatest ;) but discovered that "about" didn't say so.

Just a notification, you know best what the differences are between v0.7.3 and v0.7.4. You say to use the latest

Re: [v0.7.4] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Two quick observations:
Today I was in an area with bad reception. At some point I got a notification about offline messages and I saw a notification with someone asking me something in a group. However, when I opened that group in Mitakuuluu, that message was not there. No idea what happened, but I did confirm that the person asked me something, so it was not an illusion.

Secondly, I just observed that when I click on a picture to download the full res image (am on WIFI right now) Mitakuuluu does download the picture, but for a moment the connection icon switches to mobile connection. No idea what's going on there.

Oh, and a general question, what exactly are the "offline messages" and what does the new "group offline messages" option do?

Thanks!

Re: [v0.7.4] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

offline messages are notifications of messages that you got while you were offline :)

Grouped offline messages shows you the ammount of offline messages as 1 notification.

you got offline message or offline notification?

Re: [v0.7.4] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

i noticed that mitakuuluu connects several times in a row. i close mitakuuluu (with the 'quit' in the pulley) then i start it and it connects normally. but after some seconds it's connecting again. it looks like a connection loop, but i'm not sure if it's a bug or it's a whatsapp side problem.
this behaviour occurs no matter if on celular or wifi.
anyone else noticed something like that?

coderus 2014-06-03 06:24

Re: [v0.7.4] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

it's looks like somebody should provide log file for bugs, or ask somebody with voodoo skills to expel bugs from your phone

Ozymandias 2014-06-03 06:47

Re: [v0.7.4] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

No time for a log right now, maybe later, but I can confirm that behaviour. Also, for some time after starting, if I click on a contact and go into that chat, do nothing and then go back to the main page, Mitakuuluu will be re-connecting. This behaviour seems to go away after a few minutes, so not a big problem.

I have also noticed that my Jolla's connectivity seems to have gotten worse (yes, even worse than it was before) recently. Sometimes when I'm on mobile it will randomly drop connection and show the wifi icon with the star. Then I have ro turn off wifi to get mobile to work again. So this might be the cause for more strange behaviour.
