I just get my tohkbd.. Shuld I install some app to get keyboard actually work?

When I connect the other half phone says: "Ongelma kaupassa, tämä other half ei toimi" (trouble in store, this other half wont work).

Got mine today, yay!

The magnets feel strange :D I probably didn't check the tech drawings well enough, but was kinda expecting rails or something to slide along. Now I get to practice flipping it open without looking silly :D

Will the drivers flip the default screens as well? I could imagine using the phone horizontally a lot more, but that's dependent on whether or not I get the icon texts etc horizontal.

I guess just as it's now. If I hold it portrait: it should be portrait. The keyboard isn't shifted out.
If in landscape: landscape (doesn't matter if keyboard is shifted out.

I can't imagine why you want to do it otherwise.

At least on on the N900 once the keyboard is opened the screen orientation is locked to landscape, as you usually don't want the screen to be in portrait at all when using the keyboard.

This is especially useful when typing in awkward angles (lying in bed, etc.), in moving vehicles (bus, car, boat, aircraft, etc.) or when placing the device with open keyboard on an inclined surface.

Exactly, I agree with MartinK. I hope the software will allow that someday. You definitely don't want your Jolla to go into portrait if you have your keyboard slid out, but it can happen if the orientation is only determined by the sensors of the Jolla (i.e., when using the phone in bed). Locking to landscape when keyboard is out might be useless for a few people, but can be useful for many and just has no drawbacks at all.

We advise to wait, but if you can't go to your favourite search engine and type something like 'kimmoli tohkbd2 driver'. I assume the first hit will be the one you want.

I hope mine is somewhere on the route to me... I ordered the nordic one of course so if all of those are already sent mine should be in that batch too...

The problem is that as we just relocated offices last week all my snailmail is somewhere in the cyberspace, I was assured by the post-personnel that "it is highly probable that almost no mail will be completely lost forever" --- that's supposed to make me comfortable? :p

Not sure I made myself clear. I meant the screens with running apps and icons to launch apps.

Will the driver enable those to be flipped into landscape as well, to
make the Jolla a more landscape-oriented phone with the keyboard?

With the stock TOH the Email app cover stays portrait while browser cover switches to landscape. This issue is not TOHKBD related.
