Ok, this is kinda funny. I receive messages from groups and some of my friends. There is still some people whose messages I can't get. Weird :S

Yappari problem here. Not able to recieve messages from individuals. when will you fix this?

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

canary7 ... it isn't too clear yet why some don't receive these messages. dev is definitely doing the best he can, as you can see in previous posts.

if you have an idea/knowledge about whatsapp protocol, do submit

Hi Guys, the problem I had of not recieving messages from some people is solved. what I did was to restart the device and messages started coming in. Up to now no crashes on this version. very stable. Thanks for the great job you are doing.

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hi everybody,

Does anybody know if moving from a working Yappari (2.0.2) installed in a N900 to Yappari (1.2.7) in a N9 is it risky, and therefore, it requires any special procedure in order not to be banned?

Another doubt (important for me at least):

In N900's Yappari I have deselected "Send read notification" option (and it's working properly) but I also would like to disable "voice messages notification" (a green microphone pops up when the voice message it's been listened).

Does anyone know if that is possible?

Many thanks guys, keep it up!!

Cheers

That is a normal "use-case" scenario and Whatsapp allows you to do it without any special steps. Just don't switch back and forth, AFAIK.

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hi everybody,

I can not upload a photo in my profile (neither in N900 yappari 2.0.21 nor N9 yappari 1.2.7). Neither is possible to establish "status" in my profile :(

Does anyone know if this should be possible in N900/N9 yappari?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hi.
After trying to create a group using whatsapp Yappari version 2.0.21, was disconnected and Yappari crashed.
Now I can not use more whatsapp. When I try to open the program, being connected to the Internet, it attempts to connect and is immediately disconnected.
Deleting the files in /.config/scorpius/, begins the registration process, but now I get the following message: "SMS Registration Failed You can try the voice registration method. Press the 'Call Me' button and enter the 6. digt code que you hear. "
But when you click Call Me, the message appears: "Registration Could Not Be completed Server response was: Blocked"

It has some way to solve this?
Thank you.

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Creating new groups could result in permanent ban, as stated on 2.0.21.disclaimer.. Now we know for sure that creating groups is still dangerous.
Could you post here last lines of /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.log to let devs see what happened exactly on your device?

Regarding unban, afaik you have two options, now:

- registerig a new number

- trying this procedure by coderus (needs a bit of social engineering tricks):
HOW TO REQUEST UNBAN FROM WHATSAPP - THE ONLY PROPER WAY HERE

Anyway last one was referred to ban caused by sim switching, dunno if could be useful in your situation

Maybe damned whats(thef*ck)app is changing protocol very often.. please be patient and wait till devs handle it...
Afaik also changing group subject is not working anymore :(

The content I have in /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.log is not the same as the day I tried to create the group because, in trying to solve the problem of not being able to use whatsapp, I deleted the directory scorpius and its content.

When I installed the 2.0.21 version of yappari, I got this same problem. I managed to solve it by erasing the /home/user/.config/scorpius directory. That is re-created when yappari starts again.
Perhaps this solves your problem. But recommend creating a copy of this directory before. You can rename it if you prefer. If this solve your case, I think it may be a configuration issue that may be causing the error and closing yappari.

I tried this but am stuck at registering. it is asking for the 6digit number (verification code) but I do not have this. I replaced the scorpious directory the original problem resurfaces. dont know what to do now.

Yappari 2.0.16 is objectively worse than 2.0.21, you shouldn't install that.

Yes, in my case this happened too. He asked for a verification code. I received this code at the same time by SMS.
It may be that you did not have sign of cellular network of your service provider. Look check this.
Having signal the cellular network of your service provider, with a closed yappari proceed again with renaming the directory. After the renaming, open yappari. He should ask your mobile number. Enter the number. Having signal the cellular network of your service provider, you should receive an SMS with the verification code.
If that does not work, I can unfortunately not help you, but describe what happens to others to say something about it.
See you.

For a while now everytime I open yappari it asks for registration. It works just fine after the registration proccess but is annoying to have to retype my cellphone number and user name everytime I open it. Do you know what might be causing this and/or possible fixes?

Hi, sorry

I'm quite busy. I've had the time to test cepiperez changes and I hope I'll be releasing that this weekend.

It should notify WA that our client is rejecting encrypted messages and ask for unencrypted messages. This is a very good way to solve this until we can catch up and implement textsecure.

Best regards

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hi, in my experience, I tested the version 2.0.21, works fine, but when a user has set privacy if you do not are not in your contacts will not receive messages. Otherwise if other users have not configured your privacy if the messages arrive. Now, I also tried from an Android device allowing only my contacts could see my profile picture and read notifications. Then I switched to yappari appeared the problem could not receive messages, just send. Besides my contacts can not see my profile picture.

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hello guys!

I have just reflashed my N900 and reinstalling my apps.
After installing all the repositories I installed FAM and from there went to installing Yappari 2.0.22.
So far so good, but I'm having a bit of a problem, whenever I load up Yappari, it never shows the registration screen or tries to log in or something. It just stands there, in the main screen, disconnected.

I tried deleting /home/user/config/scorpius/ a handful of times and it still won't get me the registering screen.

I looked at yappari.log and all it gives me is

Quote:

Next run in 45234980
Reading open chats DB...
Open Chats retrieved in 3 milliseconds.
Network connection changed: Offline
User has quit the application
Application destroyed
If there is any more information I can provide, tell me please.

I wonder what may be preventing it from entering the registration screen. Anybody can help, please?

Thanks in advance

I wonder what may be preventing it from entering the registration screen. Anybody can help, please?

Thanks in advance

Are you sure you have not been banned?

I'm sure. It's a fresh firmware reflash and the SIM card is brand new, I never used that number on another device and never registered on Whatsapp with it.

The software won't even give me any warnings or whatever, it just hangs there in the main screen (with the "create chat" button) being disconnected and doesn't bring the registration screen or try to log in.

The log seems to indicate you don't have an active network connection. I'd have to check what's the behaviour for unregistered execution without internet connection, but as a first guess that could be it.

I get it, makes sense, Yappari isn't even trying to connect.

It's funny because I am on wifi and everything else seems to be working. Xterm connects to the internet, so does HAM and FAM, and the web browser too.
Just to make sure, I also had tried loading Yappari up with 3G connection and had the same result, just a big pile of nothing happening. lmao

Is there any way I can help you diagnose it, Ceene? Any information you need from my phone?

Can you post your /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.og ? It's quite strange.

Ok I'm attaching the yappari.log (I renamed it to be accepted by the forum)

But most of it is what was shown on that quote.

Thanks

It definitely seems like Yappari isn't aware that you have an active internet connection... Can you post also your yappari.conf file, please?
