I think Dell has screwed up again

Nokia is only eating $50, so this means Dell will eat the other $70. Read the discount details and it makes no sense. Probably should
have been:

Original price $599.99
Discount $20 to $579.00
Rebait $50 to $529.99

Total savings $70. As it reads, total savings is $120- wow

The current price seems to be another Dell web goof.

Get em' while it's there! :)

The details don't say anything about the discount being $20 that I saw. It looks like they are offering the phone for $529... after that Nokia eats $50. I did find it interesting that the phone is listed in the small & medium business section, and the coupon says it's for "Dell Home Users".

Hopefully, Dell starts actually shipping soon, so we can enjoy our good deals.

Good point. Has there ever been a product that gets discounted like this- before launch? Seems odd.

If this price is not an error, watch even more people bail from Amazon and now Newegg. The longer the N900 takes to be available, the more people will think they have nothing to lose anyways and go to the cheapest, rather than the earliest.

Wow, that is a remarkable deal! If I wasn't already ordering from Dell I think I would switch. ;)

Dell does not offer an extended warranty. I asked. You are stuck with the 1 year warranty from Nokia. However, you can purchase a 3 year warranty from squaretrade.com. I just purchased my warranty using a coupon I found here:

http://blog.squaretrade.com/

The coupon code is: PRETHANK

The coupon info says:

Quote:

Hurry - 30% off is only valid til 11:59pm PST Nov. 17th, 2009! After that, coupon code is good for 20% off through 11:59pm PDT Nov. 22nd, 2009.
You can buy a basic warranty that covers manufacturer's defects or hardware failure due to normal use, or a more comprehensive one that includes accidental damage. Since I am usually very careful with my things I went for the basic one. It came to about $52 total.

How did you get it for a "phone" higher than $400? I could not find a link.

It's the phenomenon of pre-order pricing. The drops aren't permanent as prices will go back up and discounts will start from there.
