Well, could be just a leftover in SDK. Or it really points to Myriad Alien Dalvik and it's there to confuse us :)

Well, that icon seems to be used just for developer stuff. Maybe not related to mad, but maybe just some developers tests.

About this issue of number of softwares for each mobile OS : I really find many more useful softwares (following my needs) for my Nokia N900 (total of 2 thousand softwares) than in the Windows Phone app store (with 150 thousand softwares).

Quantity is not quality. Many softwares for mobile Linux (Maemo, MeeGo, etc) come from desktop Linux source code, reusing decades of work, of useful softwares, not dumbed down ones.

The same with my N9, where I can do a lot more with it than using any Android.

For users which only care about Facebook, WhatzApp, etc, a Nokia Asha is enough, there is no need of huge app store.

I think this could be said for ALL of the existing "ecosystems" ($Deity, i hate that word)
iOs, Android, WP and BB markets/app stores are full of rubbish.
choosing the best fart app out of the 12,000 available isn't choice in my opinion.
The fact is, these stores are built on one of two objectives; consumption or handing over information (be it pictures, posts or behaviour - web, chat, movement, purchasing)
there is now an entire generation of mobile device users who have been sucked into believing they need a "smartphone" when a feature phone would suffice, and all to hook them into a pattern of consumption and one way information exchange.

DNA (finnish network operator) just sent me a competition invite for the Jolla annoucement on may 20th. 10 people get to go to the annoucement on DNA's invite. Also, it says that on may 22nd DNA will organize Google Hang out event with Jolla. "Everyone" can participate on the hangout @ https://plus.google.com/+dna_fi/

At work, no time to translate, but here it is for the TMO finns.

Question...

1. How big is this DNA?
2. Do they dell simlocked devices or unlocked?
3. Do they sell branded devices?
4. Do they ship worldwide or only in Finland?

1. Smallest of the finnish networks. 3 million customers (includes also wired-broadband customers).

2. Locked devices are really rare in Finland. According to quick googling only iPhones are locked on DNA.

3. Branded as in how? Don't understand the question.

4. No idea. They will undoubtedly sell unsubsidised Jolla-phones also, but don't know if they ship internationally.

But anyone interested getting phone from Finland should just use regular electronics shops instead of networks. Propably much easier than way.

Branded means that the operator adds their stuff into it like their own skin, own apps, ringtones, bootanimations and stuff.
And sometimes even a logo of the operator on the device it self...
