Can't open conversations with 0.7.5-1. Anyone having same problem?

Receiving messages fine, but can't open conversations. Everything else is working fine. Even restarted phone and it didn't fix problem.

E: Seems like I'm not only one :d
E2: Submitted bug report https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuuluu2/issues/123

Re: [v0.7.5] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Tried to update through Warehouse, got an error message about version 7.5-1 not being available. Now installed version 7.3-1 lost its way: I must enter all credentials again. After authentication, all chats and contacts are still there.
In Warehouse, there is no update available. Must be work in progress. :)

v7.6 disconnects after some time and doesn't connect again, manual connect does nothing. full quit and restart connects it again.

Yeah, Jolla moved the mail to the outbox but apparently hasn't managed to send it. Should be sent now, I hope.

Re: [v0.7.6] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Maybe it's possible to narrow it down: It seems to *always* happen when Jolla loses connection, whether switching Wifi/mobile or just losing the connection for a moment (which happens a lot with my Jolla).
Right now it seems that as long as the connection is not dropped, Mitakuuluu stays connected, I'll keep an eye on it.

Edit: My Jolla has been sitting here on my desk at work and when I just looked at it, Mitakuuluu was disconnected again, so unless there was some Wifi reconnect I didn't notice (possible), it *does* also happen when connected.

Re: [v0.7.6] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Lately for only one contact msgs are not displayed unless the chat window is open; moment I move away from chat window msgs disappear. Same contact is able to see all msgs in WA without any issue.
This started happening when while I was writing a msg to same contact and phone rebooted on its own.
Have tried uninstalling, installing again no change.

Everybody should read this and learn how to properly send logfiles to author: https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuuluu2#sending-logfile

I didn't note the time, but I am pretty sure I did a full quit after enabling log file and then reproduced the bug. Was there anything useful in my logfile or should I do one more?

Thanks, you're the best! :)

Edit: My comment above regarding the "disconnected" status and getting messages anyway was for v 0.7.6, not for the fixed one. :)

No time for a log right now, maybe later, but I can confirm that behaviour. Also, for some time after starting, if I click on a contact and go into that chat, do nothing and then go back to the main page, Mitakuuluu will be re-connecting. This behaviour seems to go away after a few minutes, so not a big problem.

I have also noticed that my Jolla's connectivity seems to have gotten worse (yes, even worse than it was before) recently. Sometimes when I'm on mobile it will randomly drop connection and show the wifi icon with the star. Then I have ro turn off wifi to get mobile to work again. So this might be the cause for more strange behaviour.

Same issue's here!

What does this mean? I don't understand the issue...

Change group avatar and not became group admin #127

just interested...

coderus 2014-06-04 16:12

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Just enabled option to change group avatar if you're not group admin. It wasn't available to change avatar before.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

No more disconnects for me, though now After some time Mitakuuluu keeps saying connected but the (group) msg I send has a red light. When I quit and re-start I can re-send the msg and it arrives. Happened twice so far, will watch it and send log when I can.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Updated and automatic start-up on phone boot started "working" again after quite some time. However mitakuuluu2-server then just hogs CPU and shows as "authenticating" and you need to quit it and restart to get it actually working.

What is the difference between Settings->Display Presence and the new settings (Settings->Account->Privacy) ?

coderus 2014-06-05 11:18

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

your question because you dont know what "presence" stands for?

No, I normally know what it stands for. But I every time thought, that the "Presence" option is the way to hide the own online status. But now there are also the privacy options. :)

To precise it: How can I hide my online status. So that it is shown the same way (as hidden) as with my contacts that seems to have these option activated?

Leinad 2014-06-05 12:03

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I think, it works this way:

Presence
the time you set this option to "always offline" is displayed as your last online status
you still can see others last online status

Privacy
your status is displayed as hidden
you can't see others last online status

Privacy is the official way, Presence (always offline) is only available in inofficial clients AFAIK

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Am not receiving some messages even though Mitakuuluu shows connected. when disconnecting and reconnecting I receive the old messages. Have sent log. Might be Jolla connectivity problem, of course.
