It's true that I don't know of any phone that allows that, or indeed of many point and cameras that allow that any more. Why you'd want to do that alludes me.

Photoshop Camera Raw allows the same sort of processing on JPGs as you can on RAW. I've only ever noticed a difference processing RAW vs JPG in my underwater shoots. That's due to the colour cast and even then, to be honest, the difference is so small I'm not sure it's even worth it.

I no longer shoot RAW on my DSLR topside as there's no discernible benefit. So why would I want to on a phone camera?

(We could do with the ability to save JPGs in maximum quality but that's a different argument).

"Edit tags" doesn't appear anywhere in the source for the page. Some people get fed the option presumably based on their accounts. So what is it? Age of account? Number of 'thanks'?

Oh you meant this Edit Tag? lol
I can see it clearly like a sunny day.

Because the tech limits of phone cams requires way stronger postprocessing. To hide the hw limits phone cams routinely over-sharpen, brutally noise-reduce and super-saturate images, so the difference between RAW and JPG is way way bigger than on a DSLR.

i used to have a n95 and thought it took better pics than the n900 using the standard camera. but using this app the pics are the same if not better quality

No need to double post! We already noted that to qualify to edit tags, you need to have reached a certain post count.
