I still don't fully understand which one to download for matan's patches, the kinetic scrolling but no single or double column.

OK anything with 38 in the name is PR1.2. 40 is PR1.3.

If it mentions 'single' or 'double' you've got all patches by everyone with either single or double task manager options, and if it only says Matan it's Matans and only Kinetic is Kinetic.

Looks funny reading it back but it does make sense I think! :D

modified-hildon-desktop_3.3 has configurable deceleration rate (using gconf, see http://my.svgalib.org/repo/Modified_Hildon_Desktop.html ), so you don't need to install anything other then this package from my repository for higher scrolling speed. Installing two packages that replace hildon-desktop is meaningless. Only the last one matters.

I really hate having an application replace my hildon-desktop with a postinst script, since upgrading hildon-desktop later on will replace this binary and make your package pointless.
With plans for a proper (yes, proper, as in on maemo.org) SSU, this won't be uncommon.
