Just got tremendously excited when I saw the Yellow Update bang in my notification area a few minutes after midnight. Could this be PR1.2?!

great news i've been holding off doing any mods to my n900 and testing new apps b/c i plan on a clean flash from scratch of PR 1.2

there should be no reason to hide it IF its going to get released... there has been loads of hints from everywhere, but no single confirmation...

It seems you are stuck in this frame of mind. While you're unhappy about uninformed users, I think this mentality is working to increase the divide. An outcome which is a counter to alleviating your frustrations.

Nobody other than Nokia knows. Nokia do not pre-announce firmware release dates.
It will arrive when it is ready.

of course they have estimates but no one knows for sure until the decision of releasing is done.

This firmware will sure fix a lot of issues and bring new features but dont forget about the new bugs it might bring along with it.I'm just saying because some people are gonna be sad when they have it.Hype sure does make you pee in your pants but im saying just hold it and do it in its proper place coz it aint worth it.just saying.

Btw im having problem with this site from my N900. I cant see the next button,the thread stars and the skip to page box.I can see them on my pc. Does anyone face this problem.Any fix? Thanx

Which forum theme are you using? as the default does have issues on the device
Switch to something like classic dark and it should appear correctly on N900

i dont think the device will get 1.2 PR soon(IF it gets it).The n900 is the least of Nokia's worries atm,everyone in Nokia is focused on Meego and the three new upcoming devices,the N8,C6 and C3.I wouldnt be expecting it before the announcment of the N8.

That is because you have your "adjust view" setting, in the options menu, set as Large. Change it to normal and the site formats fine, albeit a bit taxing on the eyes. :D

Nokia does have Maemo devices department. It was announced last summer. It's not like they got one unit that's running from one platform to another. :)

Wrong. The problem occurs later, as threads get longer, even set at Normal.

You have to learn tricks to keep reading on the N900 here. For example, sometimes you have to select First and Last and maybe then Prev just to get to the next page.

hi

i think this type of threads is complete waste of time and effort. now we are taking about the release of PR 1.2 and when it comes we will start moaning about PR 1.2.1 or 1.3 and so on.....:confused:
i believe that this thread should be closed, with more than a 1000 post of just Nothing.:(

Well according to the guys in a Nokia conference in Bulgaria (or whatever) they let out that is should come in 3 days (one post in twitter said 3 days, the other in a few days, so I choose to believe 3). The post was on the 13th so it's either tomorrow (counting the 13th or on Friday). Friday is a little curious day for firmware releases (No support for users on a weekend) so Thursday is more likely.

I used to be one of the people that was patient about PR1.2. But now, it's been too long from the last release, some apps aren't able to be downloaded, the webcam still has no support from nokia, it's just sitting there, same with the IR emitter. What would we do without he community? The community is keeping us together more than Nokia.

I used a soultion on another thread which i cannot find which gives you longer width for this forums only (you can add more)

you need to install a plugin for microB called greasemonkey webaddon and then just click on a file with script and it loads it when you view this forums.

Okay well it's either going to be release tomorrow or we're going to have to wait for another week and keep hoping. It's my guess that Nokia would never release a firmware update on a Friday because if something goes wrong, it's hard to get a hold of someone on the weekend.

I am enjoying my N900, I can wait for Pr1.2
However I have noticed a sharp decline in new apps, and an absence of almost any commercial apps in the last 8 weeks.

It feels like N900 3rd part development is stagnating. That is the only reason i want to see PR1.2 (well that and the ability to play avis and Mp4s that played before PR1.1)

Who would want to waste time on maemo when meego is here already?

That's what this thread is all about, I think. We're waiting for PR1.2 just to see if maemo has been officially forsaken by Nokia.

If all what we've talk about for months (voice dialing, portrait, etc) is not in 1.2, we can just accept that that's just the way life is... and we have then to pray for meego to come one day, so our outstanding hardware would be use as a normal, complete phone.
