1. Has anyone managed to move apps to SD card ?
FroYo (NITDroid 0.0.9) provide this as an option for many apps, but I have not manged to move any app :( - all give a failed to move error.

2. Also, has anyone tried Taking Tom Cat (or Santa) on NITDroid - I found that the play back audio on both would often fail by playing incredibly slow and at other times play fine.

So can anyone confirm that the power kernal is the problem when installing to emmc and you can't boot nitroid or maemo from the boot menu.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

nitdroid-installer: Depends: multiboot (>= 0.2.10) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: multiboot-kernel-maemo (>= 0.3) but it is not going to be installed
qtwrt: Depends: wrt (= 1.1.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: wrt-api (= 1.1.0) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution)

Please please please.... Can someone help me to get past this problem.. Thanks

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

I had this problem as well to fix this issue go to the terminal on your N900 and type root and hit enter and then type the following apt-get install -f and hit enter and type y and hit enter to the necessary applications or packages to install and now type apt-get install nitrdroid-installer and hit enter or if you have downloaded the package manually type cd and type in the directory where it is saved and hit enter. Then type dpkg -i nameofpackage.deb and hit enter.
Hopefully this should help ;)

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

when installing gingerbread what should i do in this step?

what should i replace etc with?

when its says to press tab it says to press it in xterm instead of pressing enter?

9. On Xterm:
Code:
leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/1 (then press tab on your screen

i know this are stupid questions but i dont want to do any mistakes..

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

Nowhere, i just thought the etc was to replace something :(

sorry

Now, it opened, i dont have a memory card, so am i supposed to replace ITEM_DEVICE:${INT_CARD}p2 for ITEM_DEVICE:mmcblk0p2 in the line where it says ITEM_DEVICE?

I ask this cause in the tutorial doesnt say to replace, just says to look so it should appear ITEM_DEVICE:mmcblk0p2 but it appears ITEM_DEVICE:${INT_CARD}p2 instead.

Thanks

EDIT: ok, i did replace but i cant save, it says that it wasnt possible to open archives for writing whenever i try to save.

This was a translation from portuguese to english so it might not be exactly as it would say in an english n900

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

Okay so I have been looking for some updates for Nitdroid and I found the following files here. http://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes/
gingerbread_update1.tar.bz2
And
gingerbread_update2.tar.bz2
As well as some other files such as gingerbread_superuser.tar.bz2
And also camera.tar.gz.
How do I install these updates, I mean I know I need to extract but to where?
I am guessing the same place where I installed Nitdroid but will, I have to mount /home /and again and cd into the directory, thanks :)

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

I was right you do have to mount /home /and.
Anyway just to reiterate if anyone is wondering how to install an update or modification to the Android core.
Make sure the packages are in MyDocs and do the following ;)
Code:

root
cd /home/user/MyDocs
bzip2 -d nameofpackage.tar.bz2
cd /home
mkdir /and
cd /
mount /home /and
cd /and
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/nameofpackage.tar

-optionalTo save times whilst I am still in root, I type reboot and enter to save time ;)

I never knew. I know that Nitdroid will mount and use the internal emmc only, and never searched about it.

Click this linkhttp://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes/ :)
And download the following files and make sure you put them in MyDocs :)
gingerbread_update1.tar.bz2
gingerbread_update2.tar.bz2
Then apply each update using the following ;)
Code:

root
cd /home/user/MyDocs
bzip2 -d nameofpackage.tar.bz2
cd /
mount /home /and
cd /and
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/nameofpackage.tar

-optionalTo save times whilst I am still in root, I type reboot and enter to save time ;)
After videos should now work :)
