The schedule sync or you can't sync anything ? Are you getting a error in the email app when you perform an update ?

Scheduled syncing does not work.
Of course it syncs when I select "check for new messages"

The schedule sync... no error.

Multitasking view shows in finnish "9 tuntia sitten" and in english "9 hours ago"

With the new firmware: if I don't have WLAN functionality enabled the phone cannot connect using mobile data communication. So if you have mobile data connection issues and WLAN is disabled, enable it.

Note that network needs to be up otherwise it will not try to sync, background processes do not request network. Check that setting is correct under settings->apps->mail. Also the cover does not keep updating to save resources, so if there aren't new emails time will not change unless you close and reopen email app, we'll improve that in order to not cause confusion.

Thanks, I was having this issue and your advice helped. Then I turned WLAN off and the phone connected to internet using mobile data just fine.

@VDVsx,

Regarding two way sync (with Exchange) is this something that is in the pipeline, or Jolla will never do this? I hope it comes with an update, because my N9 can sync back to Exchange ok.

Had the phone now for 3 hours. Love the design and UI. Setting up all the info and so forth was also really nicely done.

Rest has been somewhat problematic. I can't get the Sailfish browser to to obey my touches. Yandex store either crashes at setup or cannot load the CAPTCHA at account verification. Tried to install the new update, but after installation I'm still on the original software version plus now the phone seems to be in somekind of endless 'searching for update' loop. After all that messing I was at 24% battery. so I decided to turn it off and take a rest while battery loads. For some reason the battery marker shot up to 47% from 23% just because I turned off the phone.

More testing tomorrow, I think.

Sorry can promise/say anything about new features, but I would never say never, all bits are in place except some UI so make your own conclusions :D

Maybe it failed to download - this was reported elsewhere. You keep trying and eventually happens.

I *think* this was one of the fixes in the update ;-)

Anyone else had this issue?

Installed skype and it works pretty well, except that, no matter what settings I use the earpiece/speaker toggle doesn't work - sound always comes out of the speaker

Anyone have a version which does work?

Enable and connect to WLAN. Close all other apps. Then try again.

Just tried it and have the same issue.

Did you ever get to the bottom of the alarm problem. I have the same issue and have reported it to Jolla.

People need to get used to not to mix outside and inside swipes.

Actually his main problem seems to be that he doesn't understand the difference with the frame swipe and swipe inside the screen. He also somehow able to miss the app grid every time. :D

I admit that if you have absolutely no idea about swipe UI/N9 or haven't seen a single Sailfish video, I might be doing the same using the phone for the first time.
Swipe UI still has the best looking transition imo when you swipe away from a app and best indication what you are actually doing. So satisfying.

OK. I don't understand why yandex store is preinstalled! Please. go http://m.aptoide.com/ and enjoy! there is newer and more apps!

Bug: android app update brake the app. you must remove and then instal that app again.

Bug 2&3 android not support camera and your contacts not support android (Viber and Whatsup need that)

But jay!!! Hill Climp Racing! :) must load my old saves to Sailfish

This is so embarrassing. Is he drunk? I never touched a Jolla phone in my life, but even I can see what he's doing wrong.

I hope Jolla has a feature which will electrocute you when you have VVS. Sheesh. How hard is it to keep turn phone landscape when taking a video/photo?

depressing..

but not an exception... that video is his CV to qualify as telecom blogger-reviewer.

Is there a professional user out there that cares to showcase productivity like multitasking between open emails, telecom apps, copy / paste etc..?

What is truly depressing are his comments on that youtube video. Like hoping a update to make the UI easier to use etc.

I wonder if one can swipe out from tutorial by accident and not finish it, that would leave a new user a bit lost. Don't think the guy is drunk, pretty sure my father will have similar first experience with Jolla if I don't guide him

Not sure what you mean, the video was funny, if I recorded my father/grandpa getting lost in Sailfish UI and it turned out to be funny, yeah, maybe I will upload it, why not. What I'm wondering is if Jolla did user tests with people who never even seen n9, maybe seeing that the user constantly ends up going to notifications should trigger a hint/highlight? Restart the tutorial? He definitely didn't finish it, so could be a nasty situation if you drop user without explaining him clearly different swipes available

IIRC there a short "getting started" leaflet in the box. Getting lost in the UI and not reading this doesn't make you look smart.

I don't know the guy, maybe he has a distance to himself and doesn't consider a video of himself fumbling around in a totally new OS as something to hide/be ashamed of. Hell, I had problems finding way to turn off a win8 desktop, though uploading my google searching wouldn't make anyone chuckle

You can't leave the tutorial until it's taught you the basics. Unfortunately, as far as I've seen, a lot of people have tried a device handed to them by someone else, and the differences seem to have caught them by surprise.

Sure. I did mention this about 40 pages back

I set an alarm for 6:43 - and I did this twice because I was convinced it was my error. After it was set, the phone showed it had an alarm set for 7:43. So I deleted the alarm and tried to be clever, thinking it was setting the alarm an hour later. I set an alarm for 5:43 and sure enough, it appeared on screen as 6:43

Which was fine, until the 6:43 alarm *did* go off at 5:43:-)

Currently I have an alarm which was entered as 6:44 in fact. In the clock app, it shows as set for 7:44, but it goes off every day at 6:44 just as I asked. So the phone does set an alarm for the correct time - it just says it has one set for an hour later

I have checked the timezones wherever I can find them - they are all correctly set to UTC - which is my correct zone

Hope that helps:-)
