Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Another question: Can everybody see the Mitakuuluu camera image? Both front and main cam are dark in my Mitakuuluu, though there is an image after I press the shutter button.

Might be my Jolla, though. I also can't see the last shot picture in the normal camera app, don't know if that's a general bug.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

it's a bug of course :)

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

How can I "unhide" myself?

Don't ask me why, but I accidentally long-pressed my own profile in the Chats-list and did the "hide profile" -thingy :o

I can't add my own number anymore via "add contact" (nothing happens) and I do have and always had the "show yourself in the Contacs List" on.

It would be absolutely marvellous to find myself again! :)

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I think hidden conversations should appear again by shaking the phone (if I remember it right). :D

Edit:

Or do you want to know how to unblock phone numbers?

Thanks Willi6868!

Can not receive messages. Have to disconnect and connect again to receive them. Under settings: Stay always online. Edit: Just found out how easy it is to send a log ...

Edit2: Should I reinstall mitakuuluu? Is there a special way to do a clean reinstall or just remove and install it again?
thx!!

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Strange behaviour today:

First thing: Sent a msg to my flatmate, she answered. But now I can't see my own msg in the chat, only her answer.

Second thing: Received a notification of an image in a group chat. (again, sent by my flatmate, so I *know* it was real.) Opened the group chat, but there was no new image in there. There was apparently one more msg after that, possibly also an image, that I didn't get.

Oh and I sent a log, but apparently that didn't work, because it's not in my sent or outgoing mail folder, and now I have restarted Jolla, so the log will be new and useless, right?

I hid a group and now I can't undo that! Is there a way?
Found the group by shaking Jolla quite vigorously! Wow! And wow again.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

shake phone

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Twice today Mitakuuluu was "connected" but the msg I sent didn't get to the server. After I disconnected and reconnected from the menu I could re-send it and it worked. Sent you the log.

edit: Oh it's olready on the bugtracker. Sorry, should have checked before posting, my bad.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I had same issue.
I did an uninstall from Warehouse.
and then I installed it again. Till now no disconnections!

@Coderus The reinstall did the trick for the problems with the disconnections!!!!!Let the other users know
I think I messed it up the day the old version of mitakuuluu was available in warehouse, because I updated - downgraded :cool: .

Edit:
According to Ozymandias, this does not fix the problem for all :(.. Seems I was a lucky guy!

Edit2 : not so lucky at all.. problem appeared again :(

It it possible to uninstall in Warehouse and keep the messages?

chris_pap 2014-06-11 12:08

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Yes! I have all my messages!
Let us know if that has fixed the disconnections! :D

Edit: dont forget to change your status to ''always online'' under settings

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Uninstalled, re-installed, changed to "always online" - Will report back whether it works better now.

Nope, didn't work. Still the same problem.

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I have noticed this weird "connected but still no messages" problem is related to weak 3G reception. If the 3G bar goes "greyed out" just for few seconds, mitakuuluu isn't able to recover the connection and not able to receive or send any messages until manually reconnected.

Ozymandias 2014-06-11 14:38

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I also have the problem on Wifi.

chris_pap 2014-06-11 14:58

Re: [v0.7.7] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

It appeared again ! :(
@Ozymandias do you have dalvik installed?
If yes could you "stop dalvik" disconnect and connect to mitakuuluu again?

Edit: tested but didnt help..

Yeah, it is related to weak connection, it happens for me with weak wi-fi signal

Please beta-test new Mitakuuluu build in one hour: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kyo4tzo72...ucZCv5Unhl6-Va Connection issues should be fixed.

At least for me switching between 3g and wlan is working very well on latest beta release. Thanks!!

Yep, it's working now with that beta-test... Before it had bad connection problems but now it's been online for few hours now.. Great! Thanks.

Tried it but mine's mostly stuck on authenticating or disconnected. Version 0.6-4 is still unbeaten :)

the disconnect function inside seem useless, after disconnect, it auto connect again

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Removed previous version 0.6.x and installed 0.8.0 from openrepos. Used Whatsapp on other device so was expecting a registration wizard but Mitakuuluu keeps connecting / disconnecting not allowing me to remove the account, etc. I guess I have to start from scratch? How do I remove all old remnants of the program's configuration from my Jolla? I removed /user/nemo/.local/harbour-mitakuuluu2 directory but that doesn't seem to fix it.

coderus 2014-06-14 13:21

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

known bug, you need to remove .config/coderus/mitakuuluu2.conf

ridmaur 2014-06-14 15:03

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Works! Man, the registration proces with Mitakuuluu is really smooth. You do not even have to type in the number you receive through SMS. All done automatically. Splendid work.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

0.8.0 broke the notifications. If i had a conversation open with a friend 1, screen closes and i get messages from friend 2, it wont show anything in notification menu

can't confirm. check your settings, muting, privacy, etc.

I noticed quite a big increase in battery consumption after updating to 0.8.0-2. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm not sure if Mitäkuuluu is to blame, but I think it is the only thing I changed/updated recently.

I've also seen this. It seems as if mitakuulu sometimes starts to use 100% CPU, Jolla gets really hot in this cases. I enabled Logfile writing and will try to get a log that catches this behavior.

It happened to me yesterday.

I was travelling by car from London to Kent and of course signal went up and down and phone switched from no signal to 2G to 3G to 4G often (which is already an issue on its own [4G]) and I found Mitakuulu daemon stuck several time and killed my battery :(

yeah, it seems to be connected to switching the internet connection. It happened for me too yesterday while I was traveling by train and today when my jolla switched to the belgian network (my workplace is near the border between germany and belgium) and back to the german network several times.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

You didn't like when Mitakuuluu loosing connection and didn't reconnected automatically. Now you dont like when it trying to reconnect with your weak connection ten times in a hour and eating battery :D

You should live with it or learn to manage your internet connection/stopping internet applications manually.
