Using the latest version 1.3.2

I cannot get past the registration phase. It gives me: Registration error. old_version.

You have to wait until someone comes up with an updated whatsup with support for the new whatsapp encryption. There is already work done with yappari, so with a bit of luck also for harmattan. Don't try to register, because it may get you banned from whatsapp!!

So it's known that the encryption is an issue especially with group chats, but has anyone else noticed that if you send a private message to someone in the same group, you then start to receive that persons messages in the group chat also? This opens some sort of 'loophole', but it lasts only for a day or so. I'm wondering could there be a way to make this 'loophole' last longer?

Since summer holiday is starting I can finally ditch fu#%&#& Lumia for month or so. Was going to use my N9 and feel again that it actually is possible to enjoy using mobile phone :p . But as I really need WhatsApp for my sporting activities it seems that I am in trouble. Haven't really followed this thread, but what I gather from quick reading, I cant register on my N9 and thus cant really use WhatsUp.

Is this correct?

No problem to register as long as you do it with an Android phone.

Ok, good to hear! So, I just begun the registering process, order the code and then stop on android, change sim to N9 and register with the code?

And does chatting work how well with everyone? From other peoples posts I understand that it is not working for some people. And are the groups working? For me they are actually the most important.

i think its an bad idea, if you use en android phone than you only receive encrypted messages that Whatsup doesnt recieve.
Better you use another registration method like "wart"?

Good point. I registered BEFORE whatsupp became encrypted (for everyone apart from the guys over at Whatsapp). That might be the reason it still works for me. Anyway. There is a way to do it, just don't use the app on N9.

Never tried groups, i rarely use whatsapp anyway. I try to avoid it, some ppl i know obviously don't.

this idea that the android records is unfounded. because my number is already registered by iOS and just put the chip in whatsup. And to open the whatsup he asks for the record -> what we all know that no longer succeeds in N9

Tried WART and http://www.watools.es/pwd.html but they both fail :mad: Received either "bad token" or "old version" with WART and with watools I am able to receive the code, but after giving that number at watools it just does nothing. Doesn't say there is a problem or anything, just doesn't do anything and thus I am unable to get the password...

Anyone, any ideas? Just a shame, been using my N9 for few days now, but I really need Whatsapp working :(

whatsup is based on whatsapp for s40 / s60, that are going to function only until december 2016, that means: forget to use whatsapp on your n9 anymore.
It would be better to concentrate on an alternative that may have future on our devices, telegram!

Yes and no. I only have opportunity to use other phone than what my company tells me to use during summer holidays. Which is now, so not worried about end of year, but the next three weeks or so. During which time I would like to use still the best UX I know to day on a mobile phone :D

While I have no problem with Telegram or other IM apps, I happen to use alot of my free time with one of our towns sport clubs. I am responsible in keeping touch with four teams players and parents. It was a huge task to get everyone to use well known apps like Whatsapp or Facebook and I am afraid that I am not going get through with Telegram for them. Especially explaining parents why they should have their kids installing weird apps because I ask for it in order to keep in touch with them. Eventhough the kids would probably see no problem with it, but thats just the way of the world today :(

Maybe so but my Whatsup works 100% at my N9 and have done that for many years.

Google search would easily be your friend here :)

I think I used SQLite when I had to open some conversations. Anyway, it can easily be done and I bet there are several programs that can do it if you google.

Same log but yours was able to connect right? You weren't able to send or receive mgs, but you were able to connect (the bottom left icon was blue), correct?

whatsapp received the code by sms. but then I got "Seems there was an error! Number or IP flagged by WhatsApp."

Same. My number is banned. So i guess yours is too...

I doubt the will unban me since I am using an unofficial client. Need some tricky social engineering :p

Ok so basically I got banned because I am using an unofficial client. So they can detect whatsup basically.
