For everyone who had a working mic after a reboot or reflash can you confirm that a reboot always fixes it?

I'm thinking it might be like my laptop when I suspend it. In which I need to either use a Linux command to force alsa to restart/reload or reboot. Microphone might be turned off in low power mode and it's having trouble being woken up.

It was the FM radio app. Mine actually wouldn't even show the top menu bar on the FM radio app, and a reinstall didn't help. I was going to reflash anyway, but noticed during a call I had no mic. Flashing has me back to normal. I'll just wait for FM radio to mature, and for Nokia to figure out a way to make it work without activating bluetooth.

Just reinstall the current firmware, duffer. It will recreate whatever is broken.

Good old Nokia shooting themselves in the foot again. Rock on! Drop that stock price. QA at its finest.

My N900 should be here in a few days. I'll make sure to post my results. I got the US version.

Cheers!

My unit worked fine for 2 hours, after that when I locked the screen and tried to open the phone again the screen simply died, The OS was still running fine, visible on bluetooth, response on the screen and Nokia Tune while booting. The screen was pitch black with some kind of weird horizontal stripes on it and backlight still on.

I call this the "striped screen of dead"

Tried to flash - no avail. It's now in Nokia repair so I hope they get it fixed soon.

Article updated again.

To remove the FM Radio app, firstly try uninstalling & if that doesn't work then reflash the device.

I used the Nokia Software Updater. I did not use the Flasher. It looks like I just had luck...
